Let me preface this review by saying that I've only been to Cielo when either I've co-hosted an event there or a friend, or friend of a friend, is DJ'ing. I'm either in the door before the place even officially opens and/or are on a guest-list, either way I don't pay to get in and usually have some sort of drink special. Typically, without the above white-glove treatment, I'd say that their cover is way too high and their drinks are priced above what they are worth but the space is decent with a good sound system and it even has a little private outdoor area, which is nice ( except for the smokers - ugh ). So I'd give it 4 stars for when I'm there being treated well and 2 stars for the rest of the time so that averages out to a 3.

Let me start with the good stuff: 1) Intimate setting. Its nice and small, and you can find room near the stage and be right "in the show". You can even touch the performers, they are that close. 2) Drinks are inexpensive and of decent quality. Now for the bad: 1) This place is like a well sealed tomb. No fresh air enters the facility. No wonder everyone is sweating. Perhaps this place is a combination bar / sauna? Hmm, I'll bring a towel and slippers next time. 2) The quality of sound from performances is lousy. The space was not intended for live concerts.

my friend first brought me here and i was a little wary as i had no idea what i was walking into, wellllll, now i bring ALL my friends here! this place is guaranteed fun for a night out with friends, especially if you all love to get drunk and sing along to classics. it's a great relaxed atmosphere (hence the peanut shells you throw on the floor) and THEY HAVE CIDER ON TAP (a majooorr plus for me). Crowd is always fun, the performers are always entertaining and taking requests. The one downside is for some reason they'll randomly institute covers and there is a two drink minimum if you get a table - but believe me, you'll want to stay for at least a few. really fun for tourists (but it's by no means a tourist bar)!
