I went on a Friday night w/ my girlfriends. A little difficult to find since the address is Hollywood Blvd, but the entrance is off a side street. The line wasn't bad. The person in charged asked us how many girls and how many guys we had. Luckily it was 6 girls to 1 guy and then got right in. Drinks: Expensive. But that's what you'd expect at hollywood and highland area. I read that the drinks are strong, but mine were average. Music and Dancing: Not bad. Pop Music. Ambiance: Not bad. I liked their outdoor balcony area. it was nice to get away from the loud music and dancing inside and escape to the quiet open air. Overall: It wasn't that bad, but wasn't sometime I'd go to unless I had to.

I wanted to take some out of town guests to dinner in the Meat-Packing district. Couldn't get last minute reservations at the restaurants I like in the area, so someone suggested Ajna (previously Buddha Bar). They had table availability, so I booked it. We went, and I was totally mortified that I took them there. No wonder there was table availability. The place is MASSIVE and felt as if there were over 100 tables!! That of which, only maybe 20% were occupied. So, although that may be 20 tables, it felt "empty". It was totally impersonal and very touristy. The place is apparently known for having cool, sexy decor. But I couldn't help but think it was boring and unimaginative. Think Buddha meets typical boutique hotel. As for the food: The prices were way too high for the quality. The food wasn't horrible, but it definitely wasn't worth the prices they charged (mains started at $30). The staff was pleasant, but I honestly felt as if there were more waiters walking around than customers seated! If you want an intimate, personal atmosphere, with decent quality food worth its value... then don't go here for dinner. Can't speak for the after hours lounge though. I wanted to get out as soon as possible, so we didn't stick around long enough to check it out.

ATTN: It is ILLEGAL to DANCE here. What the hell? I was really surprised when I was told I had to sit down because the bar didn't have a dancing license. Come here, and you'll be transported to the set of Footloose. But if you'r not in the mood to dance, then this is a good little spot to enjoy live acoustic guitar and a beer with a friend.
