Great presentation, although I wasn't sure why they included sliced tomato and cucumber with my fried rice with basil, because the garnish didn't exactly go with the meal. The fried vegetable rolls are delicious and served in shot glasses - it looks very cool. The food was a little overpriced in my opinion, but I wouldn't mind going back there again if I'm in the area.
by Jay R. on R P.'s review is spot on. Just wanted to second the opinion. Any bar gay bar that has a pool table, a book exchange, and a jukebox gets a gold star by my count. Not to mention cheap strong drinks.
by Idalia Busenius on I use to love Bruno's. Hop the sidewalk and park the bike right in front, order a mean martini, and catch some great jazz in the next room. That was before the new management which pulled out the old booths and removed that big wall aquarium that you can just imagine smashing in slow motion during an earthquake. It use to be a cool place which seemed to have kept itself for decades. Last time I dropped in it pretty much reminded me of Chevy's. Everything is new and made to look old, bartenders wearing beer sponsor logo outfits and had bad attitudes, bad lighting, and were there widescreen TV's hanging? If not, there might as well be. Goodbye old Bruno's :(
