Hubby and I went for dinner here last night. First, the St. James Place address is the backdoor which makes it a wee bit confusing to find. It's diagonal to the Ritz theater and from the Ritz theater it's on a small hill so you should be able to see it... Anyway, after finding the front door and being a touch late for the reservation, we still had to wait another 10 minutes to get seated. And then it took a little while longer for us to even get menus after we were seated. I was a bit peeved at the start of our meal and don't think the hostesses/front of the house staff was very good. However, our wait staff and the food made up for our negative first impression. We got the taste of Zahav ($36 per person) which I thought was a great choice. Since it was our first time, it allowed us to try a bunch of stuff including the hummus and salads (which are $20 for the smaller size if you ordered it standalone). Needless to say, nothing was bland (everything is *very* seasoned) and it the meal was very satisfying with great variety (beauty of tapas style). Our servers were very attentive - asking us if we wanted more laffa, bringing a new diet coke just as I was about to finish mine, etc.

Minx is located right off CA-134. You can see it on the side of the freeway next to a In-N-Out. The ambiance is excellent for a romantic date or a birthday dinner with a large group of friends. I'm not sure about other nights, but on Friday and Saturday nights, the dance floor room opens up with a cover charge. There is a patio there for smokers or if you want to catch some fresh air. The food itself is overpriced in my opinion. The portions are small and it does not taste that great. If you are going for the ambiance, then it is worth it. If you're looking for good food, look elsewhere.

smells like.... pretentiousness. But about what I expected -- I was there for an event and then witnessed the transformation into le club. Agree w/ Kampy that the ceiling and lighting is quite cool, but all in all an overt reminder of why they don't call me Andy "Hollywood" S.
