by Mike R. on Met a bunch of guys here for dinner a year ago. Since then, Cover 3 has become one of my favorite places. Their menu is interesting and varied and the burgers are just terrific, probably my favorite hamburger in Austin. The one that has black beans, avocado and a whole tostada is great, with the crunch of the tortilla adding a new sensation. I also like The Triple, an appetizer which is big enough for a meal, with homemade tostada chips and great queso, guacamole and salsa.
by Joseph W. on A truly amazing location, I stayed here for about a month while in town shooting a film, and the 2 bedroom suite I was in was absolutely fantastic. Full gorgeous kitchen with marble island and countertops, 32" HDTVs in every room, WASHER/DRYER IN SUITE!!!. Some nice touches all around - you can tell they went very cheap/modern on the furniture as it's all kinda rickety yet LOOKS amazing. Staff is really accommodating - I was on the 2nd floor and the blinds weren't doing a good enough job of getting my room to be a proper "hotel blackout", so they freaking installed curtains - which did the job and looked great. Really fine service. My only complaint was the infrequency of the rooms being cleaned and towels replaced - ours were supposed to be cleaned/turned-over every 3 days, and we were lucky if it was once a week. I don't care as much about having my bed made as I do about having fresh towels every day, but whatever, it is in the perfect location, and a relative bargain.
by Walton Manahan on When I ask for a Newcastle, I mean on the table, in a glass, and not in my face, and down my shirt, and in my camera, and on my boyfriend, etc.... The last time I was at this place, the waitress spilled my beer on my boyfriend and I, and everywhere else in the booth you can imagine: our pizza, jackets, other belongings -- there is a video that exists on YouTube to prove it. My boyfriend ended up taking off his shirt in the restroom, and wearing a zip-up hoodie with nothing underneath. Now granted, I've worked in food service before, and this thing in particular surprisingly didn't faze me at all, but the quality of service wasn't that great to begin with. The hostess we talked to before being seated really had nothing going on upstairs to the point where my boyfriend had to go, "Okay, let's start this all over: My name is Lizzie and I would like some food." She laughed, of course. Haha, right this way! lololol Anyway. Our waitress was alright, despite her slightly impaired motor skills, and she did give us dinner on the house and was very apologetic. I'd give this place three stars for their food, and pool tables, but the airheaded hostess dumbs down (pun intended) my rating to two.
