by Derrick Higman on Me and three other friends had lunch here and unanomouly decided to never come here again. All of our dishes were not very good, in fact, two of our dishes were sent back because the food was cold. We thought the service was going to be good but after taking our drink order we waited quite a while before we anyone came back to the table to bring the drinks and take our food order. Once our food came to the table and dicovered it was cold we first waited for someone to come and ask how our food is. Finally, after more than 15 minutes I got up and found our waitress and told her about our food. I talked to the manager after the meal and he never apologized for the service, instead he mentioned that our tip we left was not up to par. Bad food, bad service, and bad management probably means Rosa Mexicano will be gone soon.
by Kelly Ann L. on Despite all the mediocre reviews, I definitely enjoyed the place even though it wasn't a hugely memorable night. I went on a Tuesday night because I know someone who promotes there, and I have to say, the place was really packed for a weeknight. There was a pretty long line outside as well. I'm not sure how dickish the bouncers are (cause I knew someone), but the crowd inside was for the most part hot. I was surprised by that because I thought it was past Marquee's heyday, but I guess people still like going there. Or maybe Tuesdays are a good night to go? I like the place too cause it's a really good size if you want to sort of get lost in a crowd. The upstairs is a lot nicer than the downstairs in my opinion.
by I love t. on Great transformation! From the outside on grungy Geary St, you'd never know how warm and classy this place is on the inside. The owners did a great job of gutting the place out to install (I hear) custom made tables and bar shelves. I like how they left the Stammtisch sign on the wall for regulars. Be careful, though. The new owners decided to leave the neon sign as is, which says it offers a pool table, but no pool table in here! It's a great place to start the evening or end the evening if you're on the mission to rage at clubs on Polk St. OR you can stay, relax with friends and get yourself tipsy until it's time to close up.
