In sum: The bouncers are rude, the crowd isn't classy, the drinks are bad quality, but the music is decent. This is one of those LA clubs that tries to be a top Vegas club. They make you wait outside for at least an hour (probably to generate hype) and charge too much for drinks. I had paid for bottle service with my friends and we were still forced to wait outside in line for 1.5 hours. Once we got in, it took the waitresses about 15-20 minutes to bring the alcohol to our table. In the meantime, I went to the bar for a few drinks, and paid $11 for a Grey Goose & tonic -- it was tiny, about 5 oz, and clearly was watered down. Also, the crowd wasn't good-looking and was mostly Asian and Hispanic. I prefer the demographic to be more diverse and, well, decent looking. If it helps at all, the music isn't so bad... that is, if you like fun top 40 hits and every song by Usher.

The good: Nice and spacious. Had nice tables perched up from the dance floor. Relatively clean bathrooms. Nice decor. Friendly and somewhat diverse people in attendance. The bad: My Crown and Diet was pretty much only soda. (It's best to order a shot and then a Coke back.) They serve everything in plastic - NOT classy considering the venue is pulling for classy. C'mon! Because it's a big venue, the place looked pretty empty. Verdict: I'd only go if say my friend was having his birthday there (which is why I was there). Otherwise, I wouldn't venture back just to go back.

A favorite of mine and some of my tribe. After a few hrs of Xmas shopping we ( two friends and myself) made our way to the King Cole Bar. It was surprisingly crowded. There was a group of people waiting at the door, we of course forced ourselves in, harking our arrival.. "Alcoholics Cummin' Through!" There was no room anywhere at the bar, so we picked a corner and put all of our bags down and waited for our drinks. This place is great for a martini or something serious. I had a few Manhattans, with Knob Creek...a favorite. As for a dress code, i have never worn a jacket here, except maybe a fleece coat or something like that. This time I was was wearing a cashmere sweater with a worn out pair of chinos. The cool thing about this place is that alot of people don't really know about this spot and the drink prices keep the screwheads out. Also it seems a good number of celebrities of stage, screen, sports, etc have a sip or two here. Its a great bar to get a serious drink without the nonsense, TV crews, autograph hounds, gawkers, etc..
