We went to S.O.B.'s on a Saturday night to celebrate a friends birthday. Ealier in the week when I was told we were going to a salsa dancing club, I was not very happy about it. Then after reading some reviews and seeing things like "no coat check", "very crowded", "hard to get a drink", I was even less excited. I will admit, that I threw a hissy fit about going. But I wanted to make my girlfriend happy, so I put on my big boy pants and headed to S.O.B.'s. enough of my sob story (no pun intended), now the actaul review... S.O.B.'s was nothing like I expected. It was NOT very crowded, and it was EASY to get a drink. There is plenty of room, and a few different areas, including seating for dining, a dance floor right in front of the stage, two bar areas, where you can chill at if you are in need of a break from dancing. They did have a $20 cover, but that was due to the live band, carnival style shows performed throughout the night. Drinks were on par with other bars in the area, and the DID have a coat check. They did play mostly latin music as expected, but was NOT a salsa dancing club that night. I would say it is definately worth checking out, I ended up being very happy I went. I had a great time seeing friends, enjoying some drinks, attempting to dance.

The food is OK, but the young bartenders here are too snobby. The crowd in here is similar to what you find at the Havana House. Disappointing for Alhambra. Late at night police are out in full force outside.

The burgers are poor. But holy mackerel the dogs are top! I don't know of a place in town where I can get a better Chili Cheese Dog or a Slaw Dog. Both are the best I've had nation wide. I'm not a huge fan of the rings or fries (I know, shoot me) but they were good when I was in college at Ga Tech and needed a quick meal. and the Frosted Orange, great stuff. Really, its not the best place in town, but its been around 80 years... how many restaurants can claim that?
