All I can say is WOW! I've become a regular here and each week its better and better . Never mind the celebs, the wait staff and dancers are even hotter! There dancers act out fetishes and fantasies like no other , All while sporting pasties or nothing at all. They have an Asian chick who even dances in a kimono pouring Saki all over her bod! Where else are you gonna see that ? She is hot. Actually all the dancers are. FYI...you aint getting in unless your on the list or splattered on the pages of US Weekly. Plus it helps to be good looking. Bring your fat wallets too. Drinks are expensive.

So this place gets 5 stars, because it drastically surpassed my expectations. First: The music. I hate going to bars (that is bars not clubs) that has the music blaring so loud I feel like I'm in a nightclub instead of a bar. I feel like if your are going to act like a club, then be one. If you are going to be a bar, be one. Bars are about conversation, and candlebar is definitely a place to have a great conversation. Drinks: The best way to start a conversation is over a good drink, and candlebar delivers! The price seemed a little steep for the location, until I saw what I was getting. For $7.00 of my hard earned money I was given a drink that was was well mixed, and was much more liquor than mixer. I found myself ordering several more, and encouraging everyone to do the same. Ambiance: If candlebar was lacking anything, it might be in this category, but that is only if you prefer your gaybar to have that asian influence clean line look. If you don't mind your bar being a bar, then candlebar won't ruffle your feathers. The bar features a long bar with a long range of barstools, a pool table, and a few booths. I have to say it was a little annoying having to get out of peoples way while waiting for a drink, but it invited conversation and mingling. So in a way it's slightly cramped quarters could be seen as socially inviting. Experience: What I have to say is that Candlebar is the first gay bar where I felt like staying more than an hour. I didn't feel rushed, I didn't feel ignored, I just felt welcome and intoxicated. The people who frequent the bar range from 20-40. This means that you've got a lot of different people to talk to. The nice thing is...people in Candlebar are not afraid of talking to you. In fact even my shy self found myself talking with strangers and making new friends.

Went there last night, 4/4 for the Sasha & Digweed show. The show, of course was amazing, you're watching the masters at work. If the music didn't make you fly then the light show certainly did. I think the place had to been over it's 3500 capacity, the place was jammed. I was in the VIP section and peered over the railing a few times to watch the crowd and caught sight of people standing on things to see, the floor was so crowded. Generally it was a sea of of waving arms.I caught sight of a few glow-sticks here and there, which made me giggle, haven't seen those babies in a while and it brought back memories. Ah, the VIP section, a place where you can dance, drink, walk around, flirt and have a good ole time. It's up a bazillion flight of stairs, you'd think you were climbing the Matterhorn to get up there, but the view and the atmosphere is damn worth it. Don't get your knickers in a twist because I was in VIP, although truth to tell, if I don't get VIP I don't go to a show. No, it's not "how I roll," I'm not self-important, this my darlings is what I do to get shoes in the closet. This is work. If I can't comfortably see a show..... I love, love, love the freedom of the third floor balcony. I love the fact that I can go behind the boards and stand at the railing and dance in that tiny section while the board guys- the techs are working in front of me. I remember, I think it was the Chemical Brothers or was it The Crystal Method show that VIP had a bunch of four poster beds with gauzy curtains set up, and Oh I remember.....just don't remember everything...ah well, when you're having fun... The sound is so clear and crisp and envelopes you. You literally float away dancing. There's a a couple of rooms off the third floor that look like they popped in from the old Limelight. Suddenly I am an old club kid in high school looking for trouble.
