"This is like something to cuddle to while watching the sunset by the shore while looking into each other's eyes with that yeah we're gonna bone a lot get the 36 pack of condoms stare..." I'm sharing one of our 2nd degree friend's facebook statuses that is going viral amongst some of us friends because his updates are a fabulous mixture of toolishness and creepiness, exactly how I feel about Roe. First of all I don't plan on coming back here for at least a year so don't mind sharing this tip which is you can get in free if you get on the guest list but if you aren't in line by 10:15pm (opens at 10) then you might as well just go in the other line and drop 20 bones to forgo the wait. This was Saturday. We were at the tail end of that window and it was almost 11pm (the cutoff) when we got in. The line barely moved because they want to make you pay. And the following is the reason why $20 is not worth it: Sure they have 3 levels but you might as well not count the basement floor because besides for all the tired chicks, makeout couples, and people using the bathroom, it's empty and there's no dj. Only playing was music from the 1st floor. The top level is where they play crappy top 40 hip hop whatever and it's where everyone wants to be. Including those creepy toupee-clad 50-year-old men who just roam the crowds of dancing youngins like sharks. It's a nasty sauna up there. At one point someone dropped a bomb and literally a small hole opened up in the crowd. But it takes 5 minutes to move a foot so nobody was capable of escaping. Even the lackadaisical go-go dancers looked like they'd rather be at home. I spent most of my time on the 1st floor because it was cooler and there was room to dance to mediocre house music. Not too many people dance though, but instead just stand around looking at each other. I wouldn't come here to pickup anybody because it seems people here just stick to their own groups. Boo, how boring. The only good thing was the ins & outs. I escaped at one point to eat and another time to head to Eve down the street which I also had a stamp for. I like variety and having options, a necessity if you're at Roe which is lacking.

I went to Vanguard about a year ago for Christopher Lawrence. Upon getting there, (it was early, one of my friends was the opening dj) I was surprised at how fast the place filled up.  The interior was beautifully decorated, an amazing patio with LOTS of room (very important once you've been to enough clubs with a tiny smoking patio where you choke on fumes to get a bit of fresh air from the HOT ASS dance floor)... When the headlining DJ it the stage, the sound was SO amazing, so crisp, that it made the hairs on my arms stand up!!  It was an intense feeling that not too many clubs can deliver...  and being a club NERD, I know.  :) I would definitely suggest hitting this club up on a Saturday night for GIANT, as they bring in the best DJ's from all over the world to rock their main floor! There is also a VERY cool hip-hop room upstairs and a few other side rooms.  The patio also has a dj!  :)  It's all music, all the time, and... Isn't that what it's all about??

I recently attended the DNA lounge with a bachelorette party.  So far in the evening we had been having a blast.  We arrived at 1:30 am paid the 10 or 20 entrance fee and then spent more money and bought our drinks.  After setting our things down and getting a feel for the place we strated to dance.  Before even two am all of us were surrounded by DNA staff and forced to finish our drinks.  It was not even two am.  First of all, I just paid to get in your club, then I buy an overpriced beer to sip on and you literally try to take it out my hands and essentially force me to guzzle my beer.  Look the way I see it is the there is no serving alcohol after 2 am not you can't sip on your beer after two am.  I found them to be incredibly rude about it as well.  You won't be seeing me there again.
