by Larissa W. on Very interesting and fun! Food is not really great and in small portions, but it's not about the food...it's about partying with transexuals! Wooo!! I don't understand why some bachelorettes come to a place like this and get uncomfortable and defensive when given a lap dance by the dancers. What do you expect? Have some fun! The dj downstairs in the dance room kept repeating songs- not fun.* Go elsewhere if you're searching for good music or good food. But go here if you want fun eye candy! :) *Got a message from the owner a while back saying that the dj has to replay his set every couple hours or so because the crowd keeps changing and they want to keep the music consistent. Makes sense, and works if you're going to go club hopping...but doesn't really work if you stay for hours.

I just have to say first and foremost, that the owners (or whoever is responsible for the design) did an EXCELLENT job with the remodel of this place. Yes, Icon is on the smaller side, but they've made the most efficient use of space without compromising too much of the floor. Also, it's probably THE classiest spot in that neighborhood. Not only are there 2 dance floors and 2 full bars, 2 DJ booths, 2 bathrooms, and a private room for rent, they offer coat check and VIP tables. I've frequented this place way too many times to count (it's my favorite go-to spot for the weekdays, when a dive just won't cut it) and I can honestly say that Icon usually has a SOLID mixed crowd. They change it up each night - some nights they spin house and electronic music, other nights they'll spin hip-hop and Top 40's. They get some pretty good hard hitters from the house scene on Wednesday nights - local and from Chicago. I've even had the pleasure of listening/watching a live band on a quieter Thursday night. The drinks are so reasonably priced and I swear Icon has the best bartenders in the city - quick hands, strong drinks, consistent, and why the hell are they all so good looking?! (Hi Deb!) Overall...Icon is whatever you want it to be. If you want to grab some drinks but not in the mood for a dive....or if youre in the mood for dancing but don't want to hit up a club...Icon is gonna give you what you want, without fail. You can be dressed up, dressed down, doesn't matter. Absolutely LOOOOVE this place! **EDIT** It's not the fault of the club that your street-parked car got vomited on, even if the guy who puked on it got trashed inside the club...any number of things can happen to your car if you park in downtown SF, you should be lucky that was the worst of it. Get real. That's some nerve you have to imply that Icon should pay for your car wash.
