Call me kitschy, but I'm totally into this place. You walk in and feel as if you've been transported to the set of Pirates of the Caribbean, in the pirate port town of Tortuga. It's dark, dank, eerie, there's a swamp/moat with live alligators in it. I feel as if I would be wearing a garter with a gun holster on it. You can sit in the "mainland", or for seven extra dollars per person, you can sit on the pirate ship with the live jazz band. And p.s. - you should sit on the boat. it's worth every penny. Order up a bottle of wine, some fondue, and relax. I hesitated going here for a long time because I thought it was going to be much more expensive than it actually turned out to be. And even with for people and multiple bottles of wine with dinner, the bill was less than expected. Dante, himself, is frequently found schmoozing his guests and having a great time. He is friendly, talkative, and I feel really enjoys his job and his restaurant. I really like him, and I've only met him twice. He was very very nice the night that I was there and found out that I'm allergic to alcohol. Side note: There is a creepy, gypsy-fortune-telling robot in the ladies bathroom. She likes to trash-talk you. Don't be offended. And when she startles you, don't pee your skirt. And don't scream as loudly as I did. It was quite embarrassing. At any rate, I could eat here a hundred times and probably never see all of the cool little things that make up this amazing restaurant. Which is why I will continue to patron it as much as I can. The food is average. Standard fondue food. It's raw meat; it's thin metal sticks; it's a pot of boiling oil... how difficult is that? It's not. It's nothing super special... but it's good. And I think the atmosphere is what really makes the entire experience. OH! Important note: if you think you are going to want a chocolate dessert fondue... you have to call 2 days in advance. You can't just show up, be seated, have dinner and then order dessert. Nope. They need 2 days notice. I know... I was disappointed too. But c'est la vie! Everything else is awesome.

My experience with Supperclub is all over the place. The service varies each time I go as does the performance. The first time I went for Dine About Town last year was amazing - the food was delicious, the bed was comfortable and there were so many acts and each was so different and exciting! However, at the end of the meal, when we got our check were were completely surprised to see that a bunch of extra charges had been tacked on - not the $35 expected DAT price. Turns out that there was a special event that night so the prices were higher..no one had told us this ahead of time! After we explained the situation they did bring the bill back down...but it was not a good experience to have to argue that. The second time I went was no good. There were like... 2 acts and one of the servers forgot one of my courses and substituted it with something gross. The whole night, in comparison with the first, was a complete and utter bust. Now I know why they had tried to increase the price that first time I went... I would recommend that you check our Supperclub but beware that each night is different and it's hard to guarantee a good time. One thing to note: be sure to confirm the day of or they really will drop your reservation. They don't tell you this when you make the reservation on Open Table so keep this in mind!!

AWFUL - the service was slow, the drinks were watered down and the bouncer took my phone and refused to give it back to me unless i came back the following afternoon to get it from him.  Just a bunch of manhattanitewannabes, looking for a place to call trendy.
