by katie c. on A few girlfriends and I ventured over to the Edison for happy hour food/drinks on a friday. Main reason we went was to score the 35 cent martini's they give out during happy hour (5-7 pm)! We went pretty early and paid $5 for parking not even a block away. Once you get to the entrance to the Edison, you'll see bouncers who check ID (so official!) outside of what looks like a bit shady. Walk inside and wallah, beautiful. Walk down a flight of stairs and become enthused about the beautiful interior design and architecture. Self seating, wherever you can find a table (recommend you reserving one in advance though) or high top where people just lounge and be cool. For happy hour they have the 5 for $5 each deal and I would say EVERYTHING on the menu is worth it! We (5 of us) ordered two grilled cheeses, chicken wings, sliders, and fries. They were all so delicious, especially the grilled cheese = melt in your mouth delicious. Although at first we figured the portions were small, it was plenty of food to keep us "just right" for the rest of the night. The drinks were a bit pricier. I remember it being about $12 or $13?? Personally don't think they were exceptional but good nonetheless. As for the 35 cent cocktails...apparently they change drinks every week or something? The day we went they served some cherry cocktail which tasted like robitussin blegh my ratings are mostly on the actual loung/bar/restaurant and food more than the drinks. Hope to experience the nightlife there soon though! OHHHh and even if you don't have to use it, I recommend you fancying yourself over to use the restroom. So cute and they have complimentary andes mint chocolates ;)
by Nicole C. on Oh how I adore this place! The food could be horrible and I would still come here just for the decore alone. I love the velvet paintings, sacred hearts, and dimmed lighting. Fortunately the food is great. The ceviche is my fav. Everything is reasonably priced. There is a back patio where you can have drinks and just relax.
by Walter Fruehauf on went for halloween, prob not the best night to base an opinon on, since hollywood is a sh*tstorm anywhere on halloween. we got there early as guest of the party throwers, got our bands, but not the correct ones as we later found out. the drinks were great, great crowd, we didn't make it to the rooftop where the party we were there for was actually being thrown. as general concensus, the bouncers, other than the main gueslist guy and a selective few, were total douche-tards!!!! ...the 3rd and 1st floor were a good time. i'd like to come back on a non-chaotic night and try the vittles (the pics look uber yummy) and see what's it's really like...
