If it's good enough for Bill Murray, it's good enough for me. If you don't check it out, you'll be headed for a disaster of biblical proportions. What I mean is the Old Testament, Mr. Mayor - real wrath of God type stuff. Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies. Rivers and seas boiling. Forty years of darkness, earthquakes, volcanoes. The dead rising from the grave. Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together. Mass hysteria! What are you waiting for? Do it for Bill.

For club and bar only. Can't comment on the food; I've eaten at the Yoshi's in Oakland, and it was fine - but, for Japanese in Japantown, your better bet is Bushi-tei, which is just a 10 minute walk, right across Geary. This is a great venue for live music - acoustics are great, every seat is a good seat. Don't bother paying the extra $13.00 (what a rip off) per person to reserve seats, as we did. For that extra $13, you'll have a limited view, and will be ridiculously cramped; we were lucky that our table mates got into a fight, leaving us with a teeny tiny bistro table to ourselves. Table service was lacking, but if they *did * have table service, I would say that they have a decent selection of wines and cocktails, wine is on average a three-time markup. Lots of restroom stalls, so no worries about wasting your time queueing in line... Another dislike is the parking situation, i.e. must pay in this neighborhood...though the $12 flat rate for a garage that actually opens up into the lobby of the venue is well worth the cost. Still, a great venue...

A few years ago, I only came here for dinner. I remember the food was good so two of my stars are for the food. This year, we came here for the club/bar scene. The place was super crowded! Cover charge on Friday night was $10. At the center of the restaurant/club, girls were on the bar table dancing their asses off. They were definitely HOT! My friends were not fans of the music on the main floor so we went upstairs to their hip hop room. The music was mediocre...not what I hoped it would be. Drinks were expensive!!!! Small glass of vodka tonic (full of ice), was $15. Bathroom was not air conditioned but a huge fan was put inside to help cool it down...not helpful.
