by Cathy C. on My friend and I stumpled across this place and we had a blast. the atmosphere was upbeat, friendly and loud. the lighting set the mood. the food was okay, but the margarittas were the hit. the waiters were great.
by Faye A. on The crowd is hot. When I went there I saw a bunch of good looking people. Come early with a promoter if your underage because they are pretty strict. This place is really small also, I would suggest wearing comfortable shoes because once it gets packed your going to be bumped into and get drinks spilled on you if your not paying attention. I will stress how super annoying this place is when its crowded because the place is small enough. I herd alot of good things about this place but when I finally went my reaction was "thats it?!" ...I admit alot of hot people but I didnt think it was all that, and the DJ sucked or maybe I just came on a bad night.
by Pamela Sowle on Located off of Cheshire Bridge Rd. in a seedy part of town full of strip clubs and "adult novelty" stores, Alfredo's isn't much to look at when you first arrive. But don't be put off! Inside the nondescript brick building is one of the Atlanta culinary scene's hidden gems. Plus they have plenty of free parking! The first thing you notice is how "authentic" Alfredo's looks. With Italian opera playing softly in the richly colored and perfectly lit dining room, I always feel like I'm on the set of The Godfather or Goodfellas when I walk in. The bar is on your right as you enter. It is fully stocked and usually tended by an attentive and knowledgeable woman who's name escapes me as I write this review. Feel free to arrive early and unwind with an aperitif at the bar because there is always good people watching at Alfredo's. Let me just start by saying that all the food is good. Order anything on the menu, but here are some of the items I have enjoyed from Alfredo's. They are famous for their veal, which is hand cut on the premises. If that sounds like your thing then try the Padrino - one veal francese, one veal parmigian, and one veal marsala all on the same plate. First rate! Also imminently satisfying is the New York Strip - cooked to perfection with a light char outside and a perfect medium rare inside and served with a port wine mushroom sauce. I'm starting to make myself hungry. But what I really LOVE about Alfredo's is the fish. The Snapper Casalinga is awesome! But I always ask the waiter about the specials. Occasionally they will offer a Chilean Sea Bass in a white wine butter sauce with capers and sauted portabellas that is so delicious you will lick you plate clean. I'm not kidding. I've tasted most of the desserts and can say with reasonable certainty that you will be satisfied with anything you choose. My favorite is the ricotta cheesecake. They use fresh, homemade ricotta cheese. I have never tasted anything like it any place else. I usually wash down my ricotta cheesecake with an espresso since Alfredo's espressos are perhaps the best in town. The downside - typically I will spend around $120 for a four-course meal for two with wine. But you can probably show a little more restraint than I and still come away with a fantastic dining experience for far less if you are on a budget. Insider Tip: Ask for a booth when you make your reservation (definitely make a reservation). Cushy and upholstered in smooth black leather, these booths may be the most comfortable restaurant seats in the world!
