by Kenny F. on This review is on the friday night club, not the restaurant. For some reason, I love the concept of two or more floors in a club with different music. But for some odd reason, there always seems to be one DJ who plays the shittiest music. Upstairs, not enthused...downstairs, enthused. Free place to party (well get in anyway), which is an awesome thing for midtown manhattan, but on the downside, is the price of drinks. A vodka w/ coke is $10, and thats for house liquor (granted they use SKYY vodka where most clubs use Absolute or worse), top shelf is $12 or $14. Thats pretty pricey, even for midtown, but I guess the enormous size of the place, and the place being packed with room to breath offsets the cost. I was watching as people would order, the bartender made the drink, tell the person how much and the person being like "forget that" and walking away. The bartender ends up dumping the drink out neway...possibly why they have such high drinks? lol There was a constant line to the bathroom which is annoying, especially if your drunk....that makes the line seem even longer. The crowd there is mixed, guys/girls, gay/straight, but the crowd was an older crowd like another rateclubsER said. Not old old, but thirties or late late twenties. Overall, I would and prolly will go back but it was nothing I was super enthused with...as this 3 says, it was 'A-OK'. Minus one star for having expensive drinks (even for midtown) Minus one star for not having enough bathrooms and the DJ sucking upstairs oh, one more thing, the bartender kept changing the minimum for every other person on what you can charge on credit.
by ArtLuvinChic C. on I've only had the sushi and miso soup but it was pretty good. I've not been in quite sometime, the last time I went it was at night, noisy and crowded. Take my advice go during lunch it seems to be less crowded.
by Dean Cordon on I had a random hankering for Ethiopian food and convinced P to take me here. We had tried Axum Cafe a few months ago but he claimed this was the better place. What a cute little joint, perfectly comfortable to have a drink, grab some Ethiopian food, watch some sports, or shoot some pool. We ordered the veggie combo, and the beef and chicken. It was pretty good. Of course, the injera started expanding in my tummy (with help from the drinks) and I was completely full in short time. Extra points for a jukebox and red velvet walls.
