by Adam F. on I gave Blue Martini 4 stars solely based on the fact that Kendall needed something like this venue. The other various blue martinis around south Florida are usually a better time, but this is only because of the crowd. I believe that if they raised the prices of their drinks and were a little tougher on the dress code, it might be more enjoyable. I live in the palmetto bay area, so going to the one in Kendall as apposed to the one downtown is a great convenience. The management needs to keep in mind that they are not only attracting the younger, less well-to-do Kendall crowd, but also pinecrest, south Miami and Palmetto bay. There have been times where we have been there and fights have broken out, they have been over crowded and tables have been over booked. We went to the blue martini in brickell since the day they opened, and we never experienced any of these problems. All in all though, I have to say that the staff and management are very polite and the bar tenders very attentive. The people are at times "questionable" but if you go in a small group, you are bound to have a blast. The food is good as a whole. Some items on the menu taste frozen, while other taste quite fresh Obviously you don not go there for a three course meal, so I have no reall complaints in that area. The drinks are always made to specification and served quickly. The music is generally good for everyone. They usually have some type of live band playing depending on the day/event, but come midnight, the DJ goes to work and it gears toward the younger and or more energetic crowd that want to get loud and silly. Blue Martini is a good time for all ages (over21), but just don't expect an experience that of a high end lounge.
by Cameron Catherwood on This place didn't do it for me. I went with a friend and I think we were just too early. It was dead. We had a drink and talked to the bartender. I also didn't really like the decor. I wasn't feeling like it looked like what a place called Cosmopolitan should look like. I will probably try it again, going at a later time to see if there is any difference.
