Love, love, love, love, love Heritage Wine!! This place is freakin awesome. This is a great place to come and experience a great glass of wine and learn a little something new. The staff here are super friendly and really knowledgeable and helpful. I always have the staff guide me in finding a new wine and every time they find something I love. Recently I tried the Heartstone Pinot Noir and it was heavenly. They have a great rotating selection of wines by the glass OR you can opt for their flights. Really warm and welcoming environment. This place is down to earth and you can tell that the people here love what they do. Half the place is a shop where they've accrued a great variety of top notch bottles for sale. Very convenient! ALSO: Over the summer I took a trip up to Santa Rosa and stopped by Heritage wine beforehand to get suggestions on where to go. They were so helpful, I got great suggestions on which cellars to visit and they ended up being my favorite places! I'm just head over heels in love with this place. Bravo Heritage Wine. Bravo.

What a fun concept! Whoever came up with this idea sure is brilliant! J-Boogie and Fred Everything were spinning at the event. Went here with a group of friends, we ended up doing the VIP tickets. Coming from San Jose, it was really rainy and tons of traffic, so we arrived quite late. Luckily, they they were nice enough to still let us stop by the open bar portion (which is normally from 6pm-7pm) where we grabbed a few drinks and then got caught up with the rest of the behind the scenes tour while giving us a mini tour on the stuff we missed along the way. Once caught up with the rest of the group, we got to see the rare gem exhibit. Afterwards, we headed into the lab where they were doing taxidermy and had a few items that they were cataloging of small mammals. It was really interesting to see how they did the taxidermy portion. They had all the guts and insides in a baggie that we could see while they were working on the animals (Birds, a huge turkey, small mammals.) After that, the tour ended up at the Rainforest exhibit. Oh boy, that was REALLY hot. It was divided into 4 levels We had drank about 4 drinks rather quickly mind you (since we had to catch up with the tour) add that with hot and humid to that and you can only imagine how drunk we were at that point. They had some birds, reptiles, tons of beautiful foliage and butterflies and fish in the exhibit. This was awesome, except I was sweating pretty bad. Once out of the exhibit, we decided to wander and explore the other areas. We checked out the Steinhart aquarium next. The aquarium had tons of different fish, a philippine coral reef. There is a little tide pool type setup in the middle of it all where you can touch starfish and urchins. That was kind of fun. It made you feel like a little kid all over again. We also saw Claude the Albino Alligator. He was so cute. Not having a lot of time, we hit the bar one more time before heading over to the planetarium. Let's just say, that might not have been a good idea for some people in our group. Luckily, in the introduction, they do warn people that if they are about to feel sick to just close their eyes, which half of us ended up having to do. Afterwards, we were all quite tipsy, so we ended up grabbing a small snack and then ended up calling it a night. We'll definitely have to go back and explore all the areas we missed. It was a lot of fun and I really want to go back and do it again. I'm not sure if I would do the VIP thing again, but from what I heard from other people wandering it was hard to get into the planetarium, which the VIP tickets helped us bypass that problem as well as I heard that drinks were rather expensive, which we also got a benefit from since we had the open bar portion.
