We decided to go here for my wife's 30th birthday. We love Asian food specifically Japanese inspired cuisine so we thought this place would be a huge hit. We had heard great things and had high expectations. How wrong we were...service we terrible, food was overrated, and the whole experience was sub par! High prices-no problem Small portions-no problem Loud tables way to close yapping about the stock market-no problem What we care about is food and service. We'll let you be the judge. It took 15 minutes for our sever to come to our table. It took 20 minute to get drinks and another 10 to place our order. By the time our first dish came it had been one hour since we were seated. Menu knowledge by the server was not what you would expect from a place like this. We ordered 6 dishes Kobe carpaccio maguro sampler lobsters, uni, and scallop tempura duck tataki Black cod Garlic Soy beans We were told our dishes would be coursed out and timed for us. It took about 20 minutes for the first one to come out and about 20 minutes in between each of the other ones. We were given multiple excuses of why things were going so poorly but the server next to ours was handling a huge section and running it well. All of her tables, which were seated after ours, got their drinks and food beforeus, The runners and bussers were great and always cleared our plates, explained the dishes, refilled our water glasses, and took our cocktail orders because our server was not around. I realize that some servers are just better than others and that sometimes people have bad days, but even if the service was perfect it would still not compensate for the bland uninspiring menu. It looked great on paper but tasted poor in the mouth...overbearing sauce, no flavor and poor quality and cuts of sashami are what did this experience in. What is even more ironic is that they asked us if we were celebrating something, yet did not acknowledge the fact that we were. Why ask if you are not going to do anything. I was not excepting anything, i did not volunteer that information, they asked for it. Strange. There is more to say but it the above does not convince you then anything else i say wont either.

I've celebrated many birthdays here including mine and it just keeps getting better and better every time I visit. They have an assortment of fine drinks from margaritas to pina coladas, martinis, etc.... The foods fantastic too! I'm in love with the chicken tostada, chicken enchiladas and the bean dip is to die for!
