"DON'T STOP BELIEVING!" Journey couldn't have said it best. Coming here was like stepping back...way back... to a time when the running man and the humpty hump were big fads. Came here on Barracuda's 80's Dance Party with a few friends (last Saturday of the month). And though we did arrive late, we still made the most of it! Cover was $10, on account of our tardiness. Two rooms with dancefloors AND stages. Both equipped with their own DJs and bars. Drinks aren't too pricey. Crowd is a good mix of young and old. Tons of space to dance and mingle. But the 80's music...oh God...don't get me started. It was OFF DA HOOOK..."Come on Eileen," "Sweet Dreams," "Karma Chameleon"...Try and tell me you wouldn't start grooving to these songs?! Once a familiar one came on, people started feeling it and BOOM! It was good vibes all around! People usually come dressed in 80's gear on these nights. Well, some do, some don't. Some half-ass or just wear normal club attire (BOOORING). But come on...you're no fun if you're not rockin' the 'Members Only' jacket or the spandex and leggings. Come before 10pm to avoid paying cover at all. If not, well just be ready to cough up some dough. No regrets about this place. I'd like to check it out on a normal weekend night. But if it was 80's night again...HANDS DOWN...I'll be back!

The Phoenix Landing is a bipolar WTF wow YAY boo kind of bar/danceclub/pub/sportscenter. You never know what you're going to get. The last time I went to sneak at the last half of the All Star basketball game.. the bouncer guy just let us through without paying cover to whatever night it was because we told him we wouldn;t be staying long. We said this from experience and here's why.. as soon as we walked in there was the reincarnated but 55yr old Chris Farley spinning some pumpin' punk techno with disco lights spinning some chromes from the ceilings or whatever.. one girl with a teardrop tattooed on her face on a date also watching the game .. some underaged teens taking red headed slut shots.. some oldies standing by the bathroom staring at girls passing by and of course some drunk dude pigging out on french fries by himself in the corner. The bartenders were surprisingly hot and didn;t seem jaded by the whole thing at all. We on the other hand started feeling anxious, depressed and itchy so we left. It was a Monday. The Friday night 80's-90's dance parties in the summer were fun though. Dancing on the couch things against the wall and hitting strangers on the head to befriend them... we all did it and loved it. I also think it's great that they have the whole rugby/soccer matches on for the major fans.. packing it up to the max.. always. The reggae nights can get rowdy and I stopped going awhile ago.. walking through sirens and mobs in the parking lots are a given and yet it remains a regular night during the week here so hey they must be doing something right. Guess I'll lean for the three stars because of Phoenix's history of crazy stories inside and out.
