I would have given 3 1/2 stars, but I'm rounding up. I went for a late lunch when the restaurant was nearly empty. The decor is elegant and attractive. My waiter was polite and attentive. I had salmon nigiri (tasty, but not the best I've ever had), escolar nigiri (outstanding), and a spider roll (which WAS the best spider roll I've ever had). I can't speak for what it's like when it's busier but I was very pleased. Also, the sink in the womens' restroom was surprising!

I've been to Esso's twice so far, and I enjoyed myself both times. It's not super fun, but it does the job. It's almost always free before 11 for ladies, but you WILL wait in line for an hour, so plan to get there at 10. Otherwise cover is $20. On top of that they will only let you into the front part of the club until 12, so there's 2 hours of your life basically wasted. Once you get into the main part though, the dance floor is nice & big (though sometimes overcrowded) and the drinks are good, with a Long island running you about $10. Girls, be prepared for sketchy guys to try and holla at you constantly, rubbing up against you and all the rest... and the smell of weed is intense (good place to go if you're looking for some I'm sure...). So you come out smelling gross, but that's how it is with most clubs. The music is good (hip-hop), and most people are there to dance and have a good time. The crowd is mostly in their 20's & not really preppy (like Velvet Room) and it's 21+ so you don't get the annoying high schoolers like at some other clubs. I really liked the outside patio area in the back too for when your feet start hurting and you just wanna chill.
