I freakin love Mango's. Yes it's a slightly cheesy tourist trap, but guess what? I'm a tourist! :) Mango's is a must-see every time I'm in South Beach. The dancers range from astounding to hilariously awful, but it's always incredibly entertaining. I've been here with girls and guys, and it's always been a blast. The music in the rooms upstairs is great, in case you want to shake your booty too. The virgin pina colada's are really good btw. My tip: come around 10pm for the table-top dancers, get your hand stamped, go elsewhere and come back around 2 or 3am when the upstairs gets packed.

A new fave! We walked in on a Sunday afternoon and the place was packed. Based on the food everyone was eating, it should be called mi mariscos. Lots of raw oysters and the soup looked amazing. I ended up trying something new: buche tostada (it wasn't called a tostada, but can't remember what is was called, basically the same). What is buche? Pork. OK. Turned out to be pork stomach. Thin square earthy pieces. Very skin-like and organ flavored. Good for people that like to eat freaky stuff, but I will try carnitas next time. I thought the tortillas were really delicious and not at all dry. I asked if they were homemade and she said no, but they were definitely much better than regular tortillas. The one that came with the tostada was oval and fairly light for corn, but the ones with the tacos had a darker color. The chips were pretty lame but the salsa was a step up. Verde that came with the tostada was excellent, except that it hadn't been refrigerated and even though the avocados looked perfect, it tasted just on the edge of going rancid. The roasty red that came on the huevos rancheros was wonderful. Rice had a great texture. Not sure why they always have to add that gross frozen veggie mix that ends up shriveled, but otherwise, so good! I looked it up on rateclubs as Mi Taco before going in (based on the sign outside), and it wasn't listed. I thought I would be the first one! Foiled... Cheers~
