Mix was my stand-by place to get a bite to eat if i was hungry and felt too lazy to cook something for myself. the pizza is perfectly ordinary. people i know, not necessarily those on rateclubs, have been talking about Mix's thin crust pizza. when people tell me that a pizza has a thin crust, i assume that that the crust is crispy and crunchy, but i guess i'm wrong to make such an assumption. this place offers your typical floppy "thin" crust new york style pizza. there is a substantial (but not unpleasant) amount of garlic powder in the dough. i've enjoyed some of the topping combinations, such as the "dave's favorite," but most of them have too much cheese for my taste. the margarita pie is tasty, but it doesn't have enough mozzarella. there's no pleasing me, it seems. the buffalo wings are messy, fatty things, yet  i always order them. i don't think that there's any attempt to render the fat. i dislike chewing on chicken skin. sometimes they forget to add sauce. i binge on wings. she's so happy without me. the latin turkey blt sounds delicious in theory. however, they use crappy, slimy turkey. i wonder if i deserve better.

Still the most gorgeous venue in San Francisco--classical look that just can't be matched by even the trendiest decor. Huge sound system for house music that still draws a crowd--albeit much older crowd than it used to. Dunno why I always end up here--lotsa great memories--but I can't help but feel like I've entered a TIME WARP when I'm watching glow stick and glow hula hoop performers (SERIOUSLY??), but they had some awesome acrobats on Saturday (Tall Sasha and Charles Feelgood) as well. The gogo dancers have definitely gone way downhill--gross outfits on mediocre bods--cuz who wants to be a house dancer any more?? The upstairs smoke room has been converted into a lounge area with a vibe all its own--apparently this happened a while ago, but I've been avoiding the smoke room for years now. I LOVE the decor especially the DJ booth in there!
