I went here after a holiday evening of wandering around Union Square. The host was super nice and accommodating and got us a seat by the window even though they were booked up. We each had a martini, me vodka, he gin. It was great experience and a perfect place to grab a drink after a day on the town.

I don't think my music tastes have grown up yet. Or at least not in the way that my friends tastes have. Everyone seems to like house music. And I just don't. But every fucking club that is worth going to in the city, that seems to be all they play! Shit, I want to dance man! That's why I go to clubs! And house music just gets boring! Like electronica, it just seems to be the same shit over and over. So it is discouraging to go to a club that is as big and beautiful as 111 Minna that I would clearly love to come back to again play hip-hoppy house music all night. And it wasn't even bad! Maybe if I didn't have the musical tastes of a 16 year old, I would have totally loved it! Like, OMG! And Zion-I was there and I, like, totally missed their set and was like totally bummed out! At any rate, it really is beautiful space. Good STRONG drinks, however I was with a gentleman last night so I can't comment on the prices (Whoop for Greg!). I'll give it another go but I'll have to pay attention to when because I don't wanna pay a $10 cover charge for music I'm meh about. Or maybe I should just realize that my music preferences are totally out of style and I'm going to end up being that scary old lady that goes to the club and dances to the poppy shit on the radio and doesn't give a fuck.... Damn it!
