by Melissa D. on This is definitely one of my favorite places to eat and get drinks. I love the dancers. Always very entertaining. They have really good mojitos. The Margarita Chicken is amazing. Calamari is awesome too. The whole experience is always great at Mango's.
by Karina B. on I went here for a big EA/NFL Draft party and was surprised at how nice the staff is. The hot chicks behind the bar weren't doochy and cold like your average club. And the apps passed were really yummy, everyone I was with were noshing and trying to resist because it was fatty fare like pigs in a blanket and cheeseburger sliders. The DJ was kickin it and space is cool. The only thing is, the design is not as jazzy as I'd like, it's kinda bland. I like clubs that are visually compelling. But I suppose it's not about that, it's about stiff drinks and a solid dance floor. Shimmy on!

But the point is the jazz, and given that it's the legendary Blue Note, that's how they get away with higher prices. $7 per drink isn't cheap, but it's not unheard of in NYC. There's a fair selection of mixed drinks, but nothing terribly exciting. Word of advice: sit in on a few songs, then head to the bar to order your drinks once the commotion has died down--the barkeep is a little more generous with the pouring. Also, keep your eyes on their online calendar. Tickets for the big names are always expensive (and go fast), but you can find some amazing shows for next-to-nothing if you know your acts.
