I'm a very easygoing person, and I'm also patient, but there is no way 1849 is going to survive its business with such HORRENDOUS staff. Service is REPULSIVE. The first time I went, it took them a while to take my order without much of an apology for the wait..but this second time around is on a totally different level of BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. Waitresses CURSE YOU OUT, YELL at you, and try to KICK YOU OUT SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY DON’T LIKE YOU. THEY DO NOT HAVE MANNERS. So if you're looking for a fun night, DO NOT GO THERE, because IT WILL SPOIL YOUR NIGHT.
My fiance and I went there on a Friday night for 1/2 price beer and some wings. When our bill arrived, I questioned my WAitress. All in all, she tells me it is because it's pass happy hour, and whatever we order after that counts as full price. She said she told me that earlier, I might have forgotten, that was fine. But 20% gratuity added to the bill !!?!? It is rip-off.
The waitress must have complaint to her other waitress about us. Shortly after, another waitress, named C comes around and ASKED ME TO GET UP…BECAUSE SHE NEEDED MY CHAIR (I pulled over a chair from the next table earlier to sit and chat with my fiance). But the past 3 hours there, the chair being there didn't pose an issue, why now? The room wasn't exactly crowded, the waitress could've taken another chair easily from somewhere else, there were plenty of empty chairs around us, and for some reason she chose to take the one I was sitting on. Anyway, I paid no mind, continuing our converation, my fiance proceeded to take another chair from another table. Once the chair was settled, C came around and took the chair right back to its original place, then comes back to our table and GIVES US AN ATTITUDE, told us we can't take chairs from the other tables because other customers need them. Okay Whatever, I have patience, and I'm not going to let her ruin my night. So I sat on the inside bench separated by the table and the chair, while my fiance had gone to the bathroom. Then C comes storming towards me, GIVES ME A FULL-BLOWN ATTITUDE with - fixes the table, yells at me about slanting the table and trying to give her a hard time, and that I'm F____kin pissing her off, and that if I have a problem, then I don't belong here. And you know what, GET THE HELL OUT. LEAVE NOW! And walks away from me before I could say anything. I couldn't figure out what I did to her, SHE WASN'T EVEN MY WAITRESS! I was in disbelief in how RUDE she was to me, and there was no way I was leaving because I didn't do anything, and what kind of DISRESPECT was that? We didn't do anything, so they couldn't kick us out. My fiance wanted to speak to the manager immediately, and conveniently, the manager was not there, the bouncer SEAN/SHAWN was the manager for the night. SEAN agrees that it was uncalled for, but couldn't do anything about it, said he will mention it to the owner. He apologized for her Behavior but asked that we sit by the couches with the coffee tables instead to prevent confrontations. That was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL of her and she did not even once apologize. I didn't want the night to leave on a bad note, I wanted an apology from her. I called C over, gave her a chance and asked her calmly, "why did you want to kick us out again?" She again, with her ATTITUDE, and tells me along the line of "because you F---KIN piss me off (pointing at me), and you F---KIN piss me off (pointing at my fiance), I don't take SH_T from anyone and you both were F---KIN with me, so you could just LEAVE!" then turns around and walks off. (I wished I had it on YouTube..it was really a DISGRACE how someone can treat their customers like that)
Apparently all their bouncers were the managers… The Owner doesn't talk or see customers, I couldn't even get his name! By the end of the day, there was nothing I can do.
1849 is only surviving because of their deals, but other than that, STAY AWAY! You don't need to be bashed by their waitresses just because they don’t like you.
