by Robert S. on I will have to agree with my lady Oriana C. This place gets packed super fast and if you do not have table service you will most likely be very uncomfortable. The sad part is even if you DO get table service you will still have to battle it out with the crowds since your money only gets you a seat but no real private area to mingle with your friends as the tables are 3 feet from the bar and everyone wants to sit on the couches and enjoy your hard earned money and drinks. Of course this came with some drunk girls falling on our table and breaking glass and who knows what else. The dance floor lacks if you even call it that it resembles more of you dancing in the middle of the hallway. Of course I do have to give some credit as there was a private party upstairs so this very well could have added to the extra folks that were packed into the main area. Anyhow the decor was nice and it seems like it would be a fun venue if it were not as crowded. The waitress and staff are friendly and treated us well, much better than the crowd.
by Steve R. on I'm suprised to see so many reveiws dogging this place. I went here for the first time in years a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed myself. I like the little souveniers they sell. Obviously, the food is what people go to The Varsity though and i LOVE the food. I got two orders. One to eat right then and another meal to eat the next day. I got a chili dog and onion rings in one order and chili hamburgers for the next one. Everything was so juicy and flavorful. Yes, it was greasy but the grease just makes it taste better. The Varsity does not listen to the food police. Their food is greasy, high in fat and calories....and GOOD!!!!
by Freeda Yzaquirre on Dark, hole in the wall, decor supplied by good will with a touch of cultural flair...SO not there for the scenery. The food is full of flavor, the drinks are fun and they will squeeze u in somehow.
