I always heard about this place, but just tried it (I know I'm late). Got here early around 10 and no line (and we found GREAT parking). Ladies are free (even if you came later) and we got a VIP stamp for upstairs. The DJ started around 10:15p and the lights dimmed. It got totally packed within the hour. No place to move or dance. But we enjoyed the place since we moved on elsewhere after seeing our friends. Employees were friendly. Drinks are moderately priced. Wouldn't come here any later than 10:30p since it gets so packed. Decor is like Left Bank Steak sort of - chandeliers (antler though), dark wood, faux cow hide chairs.

I've been to Happy Hours at Red House many times and was really excited when they added pizzas to their bar menu. I decided to take some co-workers to Red House for lunch and raved about the delicious pizzas that I had at a previous Happy Hour. I was hopeful that our lunch experience would be just as good and got even more excited when we discovered that signature pizzas were half price at lunch...what a deal! Sadly, we ended up having one of the all-time worst lunch dates ever...mainly due to the horrific service we received. After being seated and brought water, we each ordered a salad and two regular pizzas for the table. It's important to note here that when we arrived there were only 2 or 3 other occupied tables in the place. It took 25 MINUTES to get our salads!!! Not only that, but in that time our waiter never came to check on us, water glasses were never refilled, and we started to notice other tables who had arrived after us happily munching away on pizza. We never got the 2 pizzas we ordered. After sitting with empty salad bowls for another 20-25 minutes, my friend finally went inside to ask for the manager. We had to resort to this mainly because we never saw our waiter again after he had dropped off the salads. The manager informed my friend that our order had "somehow" been pushed back behind a larger table's order. A table that had arrived AFTER we did. A table that also ALREADY HAD THEIR PIZZA! My friend pointed this out as well as the fact that we had now been there for an hour and had still not received our order. The manager continued to just fumble around saying that he didn't know why our order was pushed back and that pizzas take 30 minutes, ours would be ready in just a minute blah, blah , blah and said he could box up the pizzas. Yeah, box 'em up and give us the check. My friend came back outside and said that they would be bringing us the pizza to go and the check. We continued to wait for another 5-10 minutes and STILL NO FRAKKING PIZZA!!! Finally we headed inside to stare at them until our pizzas were produced. Our missing waiter finally reappeared and offered mumbled apologies and still claimed he didn't know what had happened to our order. The pizzas were taken off the check, which was the least they could do. But instead of having a leisurely lunch, I had to hastily stuff pizza in my face at my desk before heading into a meeting. The Red House pizzas are definitely delicious, and I would be willing to give lunch at Red House one more try for solely that reason. But this past experience doesn't make me want to go back anytime soon.

we shake, grind, pant, gulp, laugh and then gasp some more. when i go to lil baobab i dont stop, my body is out of my mind's reign. i cannot help but stamp and praise the sound of the drums, reverberating. refresh with hibicus, ginger or tamarind coolers and watch the steam rise off people. i feel like im in a sauna, door opens with a pleasant breeze. we stand in front of the door and dance like maniacs.
