This place has such interesting history and a really neat vibe... those industrial remains are awesome! For that aspect, this place deserved a high rating. Having said that... I am torn between giving them three stars, or maybe even only 2. Here's why: 1) The crowd was a bizarre mix of successful young adults, bleach blondes with ENORMOUS (and I say that in caps) breast implants, and older people (crows feet gray hair galore). You could definitely take this as interesting, but at the same time it also gave me that slightly confusing feeling when you go to a "club/lounge" on a cruise ship. 2) They play all these silverscreen old movies and project them on the walls. It's cool I suppose, but some of those freakish looking actors with pasty makeup, dancing around in that antique cinema fast-forwarded fashion is pretty creepy to me and nightmare inducing. They all basically looked like Scissor Hands. Every single actors & actresses. Yeah. I only ever need to see one Scissor Hands and that's Johnny Depp. Anyone else... and in that many number and all at the same time?... creepy. 3) Drinks are expensive. I believe my peach schnapps and tonic was about $12 plus tip and so were vodka tonics etc. 4) This was really the highlight of the night. I have been really trying not to drink much any more, so after my schnapps & tonic, I asked for just ginger ale. Guess what, it was $10. ARE YOU FU*!ING SH!TING ME?! A Canada Dry tasting regular old ginger ale from your damn tap is $10? It is like, $4-5 elsewhere, even in NYC. My friend also pointed out, as a matter of fact, that in most places if you are the designated driver, they comp your non-alcoholic beverages free. So you are charging me $10 for something most places would even offer for free. This was probably one of the top 10 most ridiculous things I've experienced in a venue, ever. We thought it would be hilarious if we all went up to the bar and asked for a whole round of ginger ale next time. Like, "Ginger Ale, double on the rocks" It's gonna be our inside joke for a while. Would I go back there again? Errrrmmm potentially? but only if I'm willing to overspend, and DEFINITELY not for their friggin ginger ale.

The only night that I am aware of is SUNDAY nights. The Spazmatics play, they are an 80's cover band. Now some of you have heard of this place already and many people refer to it as an "80's club". No. Before the Spazmatics go on, they have 80's songs playing, but it is not a DJ spinning 80's tunes. The Spazmatics are amazing and celebrities frequent, if you're into that kind of a thing. Some of my fav songs they play are "Whip It!", "Video Killed the Radio Star","Come on Eileen", and a variety of Cure and Madonna songs. They go on at around 12midnight (although they are usually late going on 15 or 20 mins) and it ends and the place closes around 2am. To get in you must eitjher be a girl or have a ratio in your group of more girls to guys (3 to 2, 5 to 4, etc.) unless you want to wait in line. Otherwise, you have to show up early to be sure to get in, like 10:30pm. Sorry guys... They have valet, which I usually do, but if you are early there is plenty of street parking around the venue. After the club closes there are those yummy street vendors that sell bacon-wrapped hot dogs. Yum! I've never gotten sick off any, so try them.
