by M A. on I was in Philly and had try a cheesesteak. I got a wiz wit from Genos. Gotta tell ya, not too impressed. Maybe it's a victim of hype, I dunno. I could definitely make a better one without too much forethought. Hot sauce was plus to add it.

The woman who worked in coat check there was incredibly rude (she grabbed my friend's coat when she wasn't even trying to check it and then charged her $3 to get it back). The crowd was an awkward mixture of people who weren't sexy but trying way too hard to be sexy and people who were just too old to be at a club. There were two rooms, one for Top 40 and the other for Salsa/Merengue..but there was no real separation. You can try to dance salsa while still fully hearing the top 40 being played in the room next door. I wasn't a fan. I went there with my girlfriends for the first time and I don't think I'll be going back.
by Rupert Montz on I'll always have a soft spot for this place from when Qool began on Wed nights during the http://dot.comboom and the line would be around the block by 4:30 on Wednesday nights. It remains Qool after all these years, but not too-cool-for-school. The expansion allowed for more art and music space, but it's still cozy. I enjoy the art about 85% of the time and always run into friends I haven't seen in forever. I never thought I'd say this, but I actually appreciate that it starts and ends early--somebody has to keep me in line on weeknights!!
