Left a little earlier from the last rateclubs Elite event - great music, but the crowd made getting food a little difficult. And there was brick oven pizza across the street! I love brick oven pizza! So we stopped by for a slice. Really, 3 pizzas and some garlic knots. And wine, though I didn't have any. And it was all totally acceptable. I dunno. Not too much to rave or complain about. I was super excited about the garlic knots, since a place by my work (Sopranos - check my reviews) makes the most amazing garlic knots in the world. But the ones at Mix were... ok. Little overcooked. Little under garlicked. My friends apparently don't have the same taste in pizzas, because I couldn't be brought in on the meat-lovers (I don't eat pig, but not for normal reasons) or the veggie (too much with the peppers and onions). I was game for the margharita, which was decent, but a little light on the mozzarella. Waitress was chill, prices were fine... I dunno. Ok sums this place up for me. I wouldn't avoid it, but I'm not raving about the newest brick oven pizza place I found.

I had to go into the memory vaults to write about this one (a nearly insurmountable task when you only have half a brain). One reason that I'm relying on memory is that I choose not to frequent this spot. The girls weren't bad looking, on my one and only Friday night visit. Posh places like this bar attract a certain type of girl...lovely to view, difficult to touch and, torture to talk to. They might as well be aliens visiting from another planet. Speaking of aliens, this bar looks like the inside of a fucking space ship! I'm a "meat & potatos" type of guy, I suppose. When I'm going out, I'm usually looking for a trad. pub, not the set from StarTrek. Be good or be gone.

I've been there couple times already, writing a review for it won't harm :) First of all, I say this place only deserves my review on its Thursdays, when cover is free and people going there really just to hang out. Once it hits Friday and Saturday this place turns into a overrated, packed, snobby club where you wait in line for a hour only to see a guy coming out from a limo, shake the bouncer's hand and walk straight in, follow by a b!tch whose boobs look just a bit too *solid*. I never walk in there during weekend, a friend of a friend once did and came out disappointed saying it's too crowded for her, and she's a person who's usually too drunk to care about anything. OK, so now back to the good stuffs. I actually really like it on Thursdays. It plays house music, not as strong as trance which you will have to dance like an e-roller and sweat like a mofo, but not the same 8 songs you hear every 28 minutes from 94.9 either. Somehow you will see a lot of Europeans in there too, whether it's because it plays house/electronic music or it's walking distance from union/downtown I am not sure. European doesn't necessarily mean they are hot, but at least their are carefree on their vacation. The place itself is pretty chic. Boyz and girlz there are cute. All of the tables are short and big enough girls love to jump up there and dance. The drinks there are expensive though, par with what you expect from a more expensive club. There's actually a lounge down the block that's a $1-$2 cheaper per drink, and since there's no cover on Thursdays, I did try to walk to the other bar, grab two drinks, and walk back to vessel before. Two more things which surprise me. Once I walked in and there's a live band playing combination of rock and electronic. Live band + no cover = heart it. The bathroom area plays rainfall sound in the background, so if you have trouble peeing, just listen....or drink more beer, whichever you prefer.
