Went here for an after-dinner drink with a date on a Friday night, and wish I had stayed gotten there earlier for the food! everything looked super yummy, and the restaurant was packed. Then, come 10 o'clock (or so) the tables were taken out, the lights went low, people were shoo-ed off their bar seats and the music started. Very energetic, friendly and chill crowd, definitely a pretty diverse scene, and everyone was having a blast. I definitely recommend you try a hibiscus margarita (or 3) and get your dance on. I'm going back soon for the food!

I just got home from seeing Dr. Dog, which was my first time to this venue. I had the most enjoyable concert experience of my life tonight, largely because of the extremely friendly atmosphere of the GAMH. The staff was friendly, and security was respectful, but hardworking. Also, the place had the brilliant idea of leaving the front door open during the concert. What a novel concept! Instead of creating a giant sweat oven, there was constantly a nice breeze to subtly cool down the room. I've never left a concert feeling so clean and satisfied. I would go to any future show here .

My second favorite SF venue. I'm a sucker for the plush curtains, newbie music acts and old city charm. They have a fun selection of drinks and if you're lucky enough to get one of the mini-tables on the balcony you can booze and groove all night long with a view of the artist's bald spots.
