We went here from Koko and liked this a lot better. This place seems really popular given that they sell t-shirts which says "Vertigo" on it. They have a dance floor as well which is nice. The music was great. The bartender was awesome. Genuinely friendly or a really good actress. Good conversation on variety of topics including govt and politics! Notice how everyone becomes an expert after a couple of drinks. Anyways, it was fun. The best part, she only charged $3 for the Johnny Walker Black Label (usually $7+ at other places) since she gave me more ice than I had asked for. How many people would do that??

Would have given it 4 stars on our last visit but combined with this past visit last night I'm averaging it to 3.5 stars. We had sashimi combo off the menu. Last time we said we wanted to spend about $50.00 on sashimi and let the chef choose. I think that was the way to go. Don't get me wrong, the sashimi dinner was very good, particularly the Jack mackeral, salmon, and the scallop....melt in your mouth delicious and very buttery. Last time we ordered the yellow tail tuna jaw, this was one of the best dishes I've ever had. It is grilled and salted, not raw. This time we tried the blue fin tuna jaw. It was good, but just not the flavor that the yellow tail jaw had. I'm serious, if you have the opportunity to order the yellow tail, DO IT!! You will not be disappointed. This time we tried the fried baby octopus and jelly fish in a plum sauce---2 separate dishes. The fried baby octopus was alright, a little greasy and very, very chewy. The jelly fish was interesting. We like to try new dishes and enjoyed it's texture. No fish flavor, just crunchy. Last visit we got the monkfish liver which was extraordinary and well worth ordering. Yum. This visit we got a shot of sake, which to me is very pricey at $14.00. It is bigger than a standard American shot glass but @ approx. 6 oz. still high to me....but the sake was VERY good! This visit the sushi was good, I'd even say above good, but nothing close to offering the taste bud experience that we had on our first visit. So the moral of this story is let the chef pick for you and be adventerous. Total bill this time $99.00 with one sake shot ($14) and two large Kirin Ichiban.
