Went here early on a Tuesday and not surprisingly, there was only 1 other person there. The bartender was nice and friendly. This is a true dive bar, very minimalist. The sign up front say Pool Table but unfortunately, they did not have one inside. Funnily enough, I could get a strong smell of bleach inside. On the positive side, at least they take their cleanliness seriously!

I love animals, and love going to the zoo and aquariums. So I was totally excited about visiting the Georgia aquarium when it finally opened a couple of years ago (I have since visited again a couple a months ago). It's a nice aquarium, with a unique layout and theme, but for some reason I wasn't that impressed with it. It was nice, and cool, but I thought it would be bigger and have more animals. I will say the highlight of the whole experience are the whale sharks. They are magnificent! The minute I walk in the place I want to head there first but I let my daughter dictate where we would go first. I could watch them all day, and it was tough to tear myself away from them. At the end of our visit I had to take one more look at them. I guess I'm just hard on a place or something but I really wanted to like it more than I did. I was surprised that we only spent about 2 hours there, even after going back to watch the whale sharks again and spending a good bit of time petting the tiger sharks and sting rays.

I should thank Martuni's for ruining my taste for Gin. Two gin martinis here gave me the only alcohol poisoning experience of my life. But this place's eclectic crowd, large space and strong drinks keep me coming back for more. Just no more gin martinis. The whole vibe one gets from Martuni's represents the best of San Francisco - a diverse, classy and often weird crowd but all completely tolerated and everyone having a good time with it all. I love to go into the back piano room and watch the antics of the singers and other entertainers. They aren't half bad either! I feel a strong and recurring sense of excitement every time I walk in. I love how whenever I walk in here I have no idea what's going to happen. But not in a threatening way. For as crowded as this place gets, my waiters seem to still be on the ball which is essential to keeping me there and happy. No complaints, I absolutely adore this place.
