by sensa n. on This review is based on two visits so far: one for Feel Good Fridays (Victor Calderone) and one for Saturday (Lee Burridge). This is a good club. The space feels great from the moment you walk in. Crowd is fairly diverse and mature -- good vibes. Funktion One sound system is excellent albeit a little undersized, but it's a beautiful thing to see 4 stacks facing the dancefloor -- classic and proper. And I love a (friendly) coat check. Drinks fairly expensive, cover also -- get presale. Now if they could just open up more of that dancefloor for dancing instead of tables, but I'll be back fairly frequently I expect.
by Joe B. on For purposes of this review, I'm going to assume that you're familiar with the nightclub scene and a lot of the nonsense that comes with it (waiting in line to get into a half empty club, hyper-inflated drink prices, etc). So I liked Rumor. I got there 15 minutes before the doors opened, and I was inside 20 minutes later. Could be worse. Door staff was professional and polite. The club was nicely decorated. There are two rooms, each with it's own style. I preferred the main room (the one you walk into first), but the other room was more crowded most of the night. I thought the volume for the music was just right. The music in the main room was trance, but it was a guest DJ, so I don't know if it's always like that. The other room was Top 40. Bartenders were friendly and it was easy to get a drink. I tipped big on my first one, and when I ordered my second, it was double the strength. As always, money talks in these places. It's easy to judge a lot of the clubbers by their appearance (I do not dress or look like them at all), but everyone had a good attitude when I was there. People just wanted to unwind on a Friday night. I don't know if it was a slow night or if it was intentional, but I really appreciated the fact that they didn't pack the place with wall-to-wall people. I hate when you go to clubs and it takes 20 minutes to navigate from one end of the club to the other. My biggest knock on the club is that almost half of the space is for VIP. I know it's a huge money maker for them, they sold every table the night I was there, but the club feels small once you realize that half of it is off-limits if you don't have a bracelet. 4 stars if you generally like night clubs. 5 if you treat yourself to VIP.
by Kimberly Rosian on I've only been here after dining hours so I can only review the venue as a "bar/lounge"-- Overall, this has been a pretty popular place; since even prior to my visits/move to the city, I've been to this place countless times-- and always because friends or something or another was being thrown here (mostly private). Drinks are moderately priced, but the bar can become crowded. Meeting up with friends might be a little challenging upon arrival since it tends to open up into an even bigger venue in the summertime. Also, a caution to the gentlemen-- during peak times the bouncer requests each groups ratio of men:women to be at least 1:1. Dress code also can be a little stiffer here than at other places.
