There's just something about getting down at Avalon that I find absolutely fabulous; from the decor, to the talent and down to the hilarious menagerie of people that stroll through the venue, Avalon has yet to let me down in the two years I've been going there. There are several different rooms in Avalon, some even boasting other DJs aside from what we hear on the main stage. The place is equipped with great big LCD screens that are always teaming with visuals, a kicking sound system and ample places to both sit, drink and dance. Fridays at Avalon are now called Control - and they boast some fabulous DJs from all over the globe. The only downside, in my opinion, is that Fridays are typically 18+....but no matter, it's still a great time - just feels like there are tons of Kandi kids running around the place, haha. On Saturdays, Avalon is transformed into the untz-happy Avaland - Avalon's 21+ night, which boasts some of the best names in Trance and House music around the globe. Depending on how amazing the talent is for the night, you might want to purchase your tickets on their website to avoid standing in an epic line, or worst case scenario - not being let in. From time to time, Honey and/or Bardot will be open on the sides of Avalon, making for a fantastic area to lounge with friends and grab a drink before the ruckus begins. If you're having trouble with the lines for Avalon, try and see if they'll let you into one of the smaller venues - from time to time they'll let you onto the main floor for free (shibby!).

I've only been here after dining hours so I can only review the venue as a "bar/lounge"-- Overall, this has been a pretty popular place; since even prior to my visits/move to the city, I've been to this place countless times-- and always because friends or something or another was being thrown here (mostly private). Drinks are moderately priced, but the bar can become crowded. Meeting up with friends might be a little challenging upon arrival since it tends to open up into an even bigger venue in the summertime. Also, a caution to the gentlemen-- during peak times the bouncer requests each groups ratio of men:women to be at least 1:1. Dress code also can be a little stiffer here than at other places.
