by Lino Resecker on A friend and I came here last night to eat some food, we did not see a show. While we ordered mainly fried things, it's still not clear to me how the food took foreeeever to arrive. And when it did, half of it was cold. What a shame. The shrimp corn fried balls were very tasty and the yam frites were really tasty too, but cold. The waitress claimed it was because she was all alone, serving, and the kitchen was all the way in the basement, and that's why most of the stuff was cold. She offered to bring us some warm biscuits, instead of the cold one we had, which arrived just before we finished (again, I assume that's because the poor thing had to go all the way to the kitchen, to get them...). She *did* go ahead and added a generous 20% tip for herself when she split our bill into two, though. Good for her. I doubt I'm coming back here, there are just so many better places around.
by Augustine Bolling on Good Music (that night) Attractive setting Mediocre Food Absolutely TERRIBLE Service. 9:20pm- Arrive at Sambuca and tell the host of our reservation for 4 @ 9:30. He tells me it will be 30 min at most before we are seated. 10:30- finally seated after having to remind the host we were waiting twice. Would have left, but had come to see the band and doubted many options were still open. 10:31 -Waiter takes drink order. 11:00 -waiter stops by to say he'll be back in a minute with our drinks 11:10- waiter takes our order (still no drinks though) The one item on the menu I wanted was not available. 11:13- drinks finally arrive- unfortunately he got the order wrong. 11:18 correct drinks arrive. 12:15- food arrives. Presentation was nice, but everything was so bland we had to request a salt shaker, the medium-rare requested steak was medium-well and it turns out the Mac and cheese with prosciutto side dish is only "flavored" with prosciutto though we didn't taste any. I think that side required the most salt. So in the end it took over 4 hours and way too much money, but at least the band was good. This place will require new ownership before we consider it again. and the people sitting nearby seemed to have an equally disappointing experience.
