What better way to beat the recent frosty weather then to eat tacos and drink frescas. I got the Nicks crispy fried fish taco and we also got Grilled fish taco and shrimp taco. All served with crispy red cabbage and flavored mayo and salsa. All of which were good, the table salsas were really flavorful and well seasoned and I couldnt help loading them on. Service was friendly and efficient even though it was busy which is always appreciated.

I was pulling up to Flip and I thought it looked really welcoming, well, welcoming in the sense that I thought it looked like a Jackson Hewitt or a place where I could get my taxes done.  But no, it was actually a restaurant, which I actually knew because I was told so.  "Burger Boutique" was the subtitle of the restaurant, and I thought this was interesting, as I gathered that I might be able to get a haircut or a nice suit here or something.  Fortunately, or unfortunately, however you want to see it, you could only buy burgers and sandwiches here.  This was what I came here for, so I can't complain about the lack of fashionable doo-dads.  The sign was also weird, as I thought the place was called Trib Flip, but the "Trib" part was just flip flipped upwards.  My mistake. So I got there and I ordered the Philly.  There were a lot of different choices but I went with something familiar, because I like cheese and onions.  Some people don't, but I do.  I've got no beef with onions.  But this burger had beef with onions, cause it was a burger. I can't fault it for that.  And it was pretty tasty.  The burger was very small, but it was actually very tasty.  It didn't actually have any cheese on it as I would expect a Philly to have, but it had a mayonnaise-esque sauce with a bit of extra spicy zest.  I can't complain, though I can't say my taste buds were exactly bursting with excitement. The atmosphere of the place fit the bill of being a boutique.  I was bombarded what I figured was some sort of trendy house music.  It had a pulsing bass and I would have tapped my foot if I actually enjoyed that type of music.  But I don't.  But it fit the mood of being a "Burger Boutique."  If I was having my hair did I would have felt really comfortable and maybe someone would have offered me a Heineken or some sort of trendy beer and I would have felt like I was an alternative person. But maybe I just felt out of place.  But the burger was pretty tasty.

My favorite bar in LA, downstairs of a hotel that used to be owned by John Wayne. Need I say more? It's a piano bar in a historic hotel.
