Boom Boom Room draws a certain type of people and these people are generally not the people that I care for, but came here in support for SG. My friends and I had a grand time...this place was packed to the wall. Luckily we had a table and avoided all that craziness! Bathroom line is INSANE HERE! I wish I was a dude, because there were no lines! I had a freaking good time and only because it was amongst my crazy friends!

I wanted to go here because I have been waiting over a year for the one in Miami, Florida to open.  Upon arrival, the place looked pretty slow however it was 9pm on a Tuesday. When we walked in the banquet tables in the back and both bar areas were surprisingly full.  I just wanted to go to the bar for a quick sample we sat a table instead, good for them.  Because of the crowd and trendy location I was excited for our experience.  Hum, should have thought again. Nothing was worth complaining about but then again nothing was overly amazing.  The waiter tried to upsell our bottle of wine and then rushed out our food before we even got to finish our first sip. We had the watermelon and goat cheese salad, tuna tartar (the best thing), and a 6oz filet with the mushroom medley. The DJ was a little loud for a Tuesday night but being from Miami I wasn't too annoyed. I think it may be a great place to grab an app and a drink with a friend before going out but I don't think I will suggest it for a meal.

I normally am a pretty easy-going rateclubser. I always make sure to take that grain of salt with me when I check a place out. However, an entire salt flat wont help keep my mind open about this place. And here's why: (conversation between my friend and the bouncer/manager Fred) My friend (yelling over the mash of hopeful people outside the entrance of the club): Hello Fred?! My name is *....* and I was put on the guest list by Gemma* from the Mandarin Oriental! Fred (not even looking at a list or my friend): How many of you are there? My friend: It's me and my two friends (gestures to me and my other friend) Fred (abruptly closes the rope): Do you want to reserve a table? My friend: No, I am on the guest list. Fred (nastily): I am only talking to people who want table reservations, if you don't want to reserve a table, I don't want to talk to you. Wow. Now - we were three girls, well-dressed, just come from a dinner at the Gotham, with confirmed reservations from the Mandarin Oriental. Maybe we weren't plastic enough, maybe Fred doesn't like to have his guests dictated by other hotel concierges, but I have a sneaking suspicion that maybe he was a little color-blind. It was a little odd that everyone being let in (fat, thin, old, dumb) were of one specific color while the majority of people outside the rope (with or without being on the guest list) were of many other colors. I was looking forward to checking out the "new" and "exciting" club scene in Miami. Too bad the attitude is what Meatpacking was 7 years ago. *Gemma is not the name of our concierge, but she was appropriately aghast when we told her about the rude and possibly "un-pc" behavior of Fred the Schmuck.
