definitely earns it's nickname of "whole paycheck". But why am I addicted to the foods here? Most of the hot bar premade foods are not as tasty as it looks but the salad bar is glorious. To this day I can not make tofu as good as the baked tofu I get here!! Foodie finds: rare spices, rare grains, rare sauces you can get in this store. Every single veggie and fruit is organic...be prepared to spend a ton of money..but honestly if you find a recipe and need ingredients, you will find EVERYTHING here. PS. The bakery LOOKS good but the sweets AREN'T.

I've been a couple times and have been impressed enough to write a review. First and foremost, let me say the bouncer is an asshole unless you get bottle service.  But the thing is - I kinda like the guy, because: A) I buy bottle service B) I would be an asshole too, if I had to deal with drunk douchebags all the time. Next we move in to the patio where smoking is permitted.  Inside is the main room and it is nice.  The decor is amazing, looks like an old French Victorian mansion.  There is plenty of space.  Two bars with everything you need, drinks are typical Hollywood prices but the bartenders know what they are doing and make drinks fast. On Fri or Sat night it will be typical 20-something's professionals mixed with Hollywood industry people.  I saw dude from Entourage here once.   I don't know if they enforce a dress code, but I always wear something nice here.  95% of the girls are in short dresses....almost no jeans, as far as dudes or girls. As far as tables / bottle service - usually the tables in back are nicer because as it gets late people start dancing in the main room, thus making it hard to sit down, if you have a table in there.  I always get bottle service here and both the manager and waitresses are REALLY, REALLY attentive.  I've paid a lot more for bottle service at other clubs and gotten far worse service. Overall, I would say this is one of my favorite places in Hollywood.

So the new and second location of Slice scores 100% on a short checklist of things that I enjoy, (namely: pizza, lounges, alcohol, free wireless net and artfully decayed old buildings.) It is an outpost of chic in a neighborhood of bland ballrooms and hotel-housed chain restaurants, and the leather couches, sleek bar, exposed brick walls and tall ceilings give it an ambiance of genuine, unstraining cool. But for all the elements that make it an oasis in the minimally-flavored downtown, it doesn't quite live up to its original location. The pizza was undercooked and less flavorful, the music was old enough to be dated but not enough to be classic (hello, 1998), and on a Wednesday night at 8, what little crowd there was seemed to be staying at the Marriott for a conference. (Take the laminated lanyard badges off, folks. They don't make you look important; they make you look lost and muggable.) Despite that, it's a pretty new restaurant, and it's got good potential. The staff was friendly and even offered to put extra Guinness in the fridge the next time we came in (a group of 6 of us was able to go through all of their pre-chilled Guinness.) As we were leaving, the bartender said something to the effect of "Drop by anytime and say hi; we want to be a neighborhood bar." So while it might be less hip than the Castleberry Hills location, it's also more relaxed, the kind of place I might actually use the wireless net at, and hopefully they'll work the new-restaurant kinks out.
