My friend threw a party here to celebrate losing her virginity (ok I made that up), so I went against my instincts and went. I'm not impressed. Was there any hype around this dump? Is it because it was on some lame show on MTV once or twice? I don't see what the big deal is. Felt a little sorry for some of the people here since it was obvious they were trying hard to convince themselves that they're cool. Bartenders were cool to me so I'll leave them alone. If she tries to get me to come out here again, she'll catch a solid kick in the ass.

I don't know about this place. It's cool in that kind of modern chic way, but a $20 cover charge is straight ridiculous for a club with an atmosphere that is nothing more than a rave for older people with money, minus the E. And house music without the E is hous- which I'm sure means overpriced ish in some language somewhere.

I think Ligaya T. put it best, but here's my 2 cents. Just the design of this place is AMAZING. The walls are completely covered in cushions that are periodically illuminated by patterns of lights. The sound system is and acoustics are so good that I actually leave the club without my ears ringing. The DJs are world class, I have only been for Francois K's magical Monday night "Deep Space" journey, but the lineup is always impressive. Every time I have attended "Deep Space" I have soothed and inspired, FK's mix of dub influenced beats is second to none and it is amazing to see the legend (he started spinning in the 70's) in action. Cielo must be one of the top 5 clubs in the world.
