by Smoke A. on Fuck this place. The whole "nite strike" thing on Monday nights is a good concept, but it's not worth the price they want. It's like ok, all this shit glows because of the black lights and it looks kool, but that's all there is to it. The music sucks azz. I think there should be a variety of different music played by the Dj instead of that techno trance shit all night. I remember one time I was there with friends, and another group of total strangers in the lane next to us were all like "this music fuckin sucks" and my friends agreed. We all went up to the dj booth and asked him if he can play some other genres. He said "no, youre gonna have to come back a different night if you don't like the music". Ugh. What kinda shit is that? We are paying customers and y'all accept money from everybody, why not play tunes that cater to everybody as well? Anyway, like I said, the concept is kool. But I think management needs to make some adjustments.
by Benita S. on I went to Slide on a Saturday night with girlfriends. The place gets one star because it's free! However, I think they get their money back with the watered down drinks, "can I get a little Malibu with my ice please?" The DJ started out OK but then went into mash-up mode and it got a little too ambitious. Tip: You can always head next door to Ruby Sky if needed.
by Virginia Heimerl on When I finally leave the Alamo Square area, I'm going to look back and think: "Man, I didn't go to Waziema enough". Stellar food and a fun environment. Their veggie plate is killer (forget Herbivore!).
