"What's the name of this club? I can't remember but it's alright, a-alright." One of the best nights I have had in a lonnnnnng time. September 11, 2010, NYC, crazy police presence, and I was wondering why the city was so alive and so alert. (Insert blonde moment here.) My brother Matt, my cousin Alexis and myself all went into the city after I had finished up my Master's capstone project presentation. I needed this night. I needed a drink. I needed to dance. We ended up at the Frying Pan at around 11p.m. on Saturday night. It was packed as I expected it to be. What I didn't expect was the awesomeness of this bar/club/old naval boat, all packed into one hot spot. Let the drinking begin... For all of you hustlers out there, yes, the drinks are expensive, but not anymore expensive then any other NYC bars or clubs. Anyways, I wasn't paying, so it really didn't matter. (It did matter, I was just in need of an out of control drunk night.) I got it. The bar itself is actually the pier, and the nightclub is on the boat. I think it was Lady GaGa night, seriously. (I love her b.t.w.) I am sea worthy, grew up in Miami on the water. Now, what better than rocking the boat with bad and enthusiastic dancers? Now, I must point out, that even my brother made it across the dance floor with Lady GaGa blasting. I danced, he did not. Half psychotic, sick, hypnotic, got my blueprint, it's symphonic. (And that is just the bathrooms.) Definitely worthy of visiting when in NYC. Check out the bathrooms, the pool room, the boat, the bar and then the bathroom again (for all you beer/alky drinkers.) Go! Use your muscle, carve it out, work it, hustle. I got it, just stay close enough to get it. Don't slow, drive it, clean it, bleed it, spend the lasto in your pocko. Just Dance. (Really)

Dante's Down the Hatch is one of the best restaurants I've ever had the pleasure to experience. It's not inexpensive, but several characteristics make it worthwhile. First...the ambiance. You've probably never eaten in a restaurant that looks like an 18th century wharf. Complete with a ship and caymans, it's a unique sight. Second...the food. It's fondue. You have to cook it yourself, so no complaining about the meat being overcooked, etc. The ingredients are top-notch. All grade-A cuts of meat...the flavor is evident. Third...the staff. The wait-staff is knowledgeable in case you've never had fondue before. They are attentive without loitering. And the best part...Dante - the man himself. He's almost always there and stops by each table for a bit of conversation - not the typical manager's speech..."Enjoying everything tonight? Great. Come back and see us..." Most of the detractors can be summed up easily. Their girlfriends made them go there. So they complain about high prices, small portions, and a tiny menu. Go to McDonald's and never review a restaurant again, please. Enjoy your experience at Dante's!

definition of a great neighborhood bar. tvs, pool, darts, popcorn, lots of beers on tap, pitchers, cool bartender, awesome memorabilia of the niners and giants!
