Great style. Great decor. I don't mind that there's a dress code and was glad when the dude in front of me wearing Pumas got kicked out of line. Call it elitist, but if I want to see rainbow sandals and popped collar polo shirts, i'll head down to Hermosa Beach with all the spiked hair and lifted trucks. Mixed drinks are done well here. Must be, my friend had 4 old fashions and dropped his glass on the floor after feeling too good. Does the absinthe do anything? I bought the $18 one from the fairy and i'm not sure I felt anything. Maybe if they were allowed to sell the real, uncut one. I love the black and white movies projected on the walls, the boiler room feel and the shows. Overall, amazing bar.

OMG! If you have more than a few hundreds burning a hole in your pocket and are looking for a truly exceptional dining experience, then run don't walk to Morimoto's. Its as good as all the hype! To begin with service was impeccable. Head to the bathroom and there's someone there in a flash to fold your napkin- wouldn't want it to to lay crumpled up on the table :) Our server was beyond knowledgeable. She knew just the right moments to approach the table and ask us how the meal was going. I ordered the Omakase menu (the "cheaper version" at $80). Apparently the more expensive option has higher end items, but I was beyond thrilled with the items served. I was able to provide any dietary limitations I had and they tailored a truly delic menu which really highlighted what the restaurant had to offer. Basically I was stuffing sushi in my face that I would never dream of ordering. Its an amazing, albeit, pricey meal. Save it for a special occasion- its well worth it (oh and order the Omakase menu!!)

I've been attending gigs locally since 1981, and by far this is my current favorite location to not only catch some great local/national musical talents, but for the friendly crowd, perpetually rotating home brewed ales, and friendly servers. Ah yes, the downside, the place is small, which means a gig can, and often does sell out. Being trapped in a small, crowded bar at a sold out gig there is not fun for me, but U make due for a great gig!!! Naturally when the place is crowded, the bar service will inevitably be reduced, so..be patient..or if you are that much of a drunkard, head downstairs to grab a few beers and bring them back upstairs with you (yes, it is allowed). The sound at JB's is state-of-the-art. The multicolored digital lighting's back drop and stage lights are second to none in the city's small club venues. This place is a must play concert venue in Philly. I have yet to experience the first floor food, but it looks and smells appetizing. Give it a go. There is plenty of nearby free parking, and the area has become very safe over the past few years.
