by Mariela D. on Ugh. No. I can't speak for the other nights, but Saturday night is NOT what's up. It reminds me why I don't go to clubs anymore. When I have gone, we have trouble with the bouncers even though we're on the guestlist. WTF? You don't want a bunch of hot ass girls in your club? I could do without their snarky attitudes. I really could. I can understand them giving attitude to a bunch of 21-year old loud-mouthed divas but I can assure you my friends and I fall into the mature grown-ass woman category. Security just treats everyone the same, I guess. It takes forever to get a drink at the bar but at least the bartenders are nice. Positives about this place: Lots of parking, spacious deck where you can cool off and enjoy your drink. The music is also good - Top 40s, pop and hip hop. Now that I think of it, I don't think this place has changed over the years. But I have. And I guess I just don't see the attraction anymore.
by Young R. on No issues getting in (3 girls, 1 guy), but there were some very impatient people demanding that we pay $20 cover inside or leave. The bartender inside was kind of mean too... Drinks were not cheap, but effective. There were these two bored-looking but hot girls in bikinis and fishnets sashaying around on stands. Kind of a distraction because every time they came out, guys would just stand there and ogle for about a minute until it was clear they weren't going to do anything more interesting. The girls swinging on the ceiling were pretty cool though. Let's see, there were A LOT of Asian guys there. Depending on who you are, you may find this fact appealing or not. Possibly a little bit on the... more drunken/thuggish side though because (no joke) this group of the biggest guys in the club threatened to beat us up for standing in their way. Other than that, it was pretty fun. The space is very large with high ceilings but was filled with enough people that it still looked fun and not empty. I hate the tiny, suffocating clubs, so this aspect is more important than anything.
by Gladis Rapin on This is my favorite dance party in the city. Everyone is there just to have a great time, dance, drink and be merry. I like the pirate feeling of stealing music and doing what we want to it. Makes ya feel naughty.... I like to dress with a little bit of pirate flavor...not the gross teeth way, but you know sport the sexy eye patch/ stripes style. There are all types here which is another reason I love it. Trannies, hipsters, flamers, bikers...you name it! The mash-ups are so awesome. NIN with the Beatles?! Depeche Mode vs. Goldfrapp!?! Missy Elliot vs. Le Tigre? Holy Moses! If you don't like one song, not to worry! It will be mixed soon with something completely different. Check out their website for samples. There are sexy go-go dancers (men and women thank gawd!) A cheesy midnight drag show and free cds. Get there early because this event is just getting more and more popular.
