by Bob Y. on This is a novel idea. Giant aquarium w/Reef, mood lighting, DJ, science and alcohol are a great combo. Who would have thunk? :-) The aquarium is great, the music needs to be louder and filter the chatter of the people standing near the DJ, you can actually hear their conversation. I've always like going to the Academy of Sciences and having gone to nightlife is quite an experience. I would definitely come back and bring a group of friends next time. I had a great time. Good job, Academy of Sciences!
by Marina G. on Tao is entirely overrated. I judge predominantly on food, so they really deserve 2 stars but the service was very good so they get an extra star for that. I came here for dinner with friends on Friday night. We had a 7:15 reservation...they won't seat you until the whole party is there and some of our party showed up around 8...they held our reservation and then promptly seated us. The waiter was alright, answered our questions and took care of all our needs but the food was blah. The inside is vast and Asian inspired. We had the veggie dumplings which were just alright and then we shared the Chilean Sea Bass $34 and fliet mignon with noodles $29 and got a side of fried rice with duck. The sea bass was the best. The fish was succulent and sweet the veggies underneath were so salty. The noodles tasted like they were soaked in salt but the chunks of filet mignon were big, soft and juicy. The fried rice is what I like to call floor rice...it literally tastes as if they swept it off the kitchen floor. Dessert platter was mostly ice cream and a giant fortune cookie...way overpriced at $30. Waste of money go elsewhere. The fake asian food+ fake asian atmosphere+ high prices = :(
by Neal Hysell on Ok....so this is going to be one of my only negative reviews. Hey, its bound to happen sometime. The food here is mediocre. I honestly could find good greek food anywhere else in Atlanta. The service was beyond horrible. We had to ask for everything we needed. I think they get too caught up in entertaining that they lose in the service arena. We were treated unfairly and the staff were completely rude...even considering we spent a nice sum of money. They even charged our party an extra 2% tip fee for cake service! Are you kidding me, they stuck three candles in it and didnt even cut it...Wow! Blahblahblah Go ahead, give it a try, but remember, I told you... = )
