Overcrowded and stuffy. They did a good job of renovating the place but this club is way too packed on the weekends and they only play pop music now. I miss the old 1150 from back in the day. The only saving grace is the garden area where you can have room to breathe and mingle with others. The networking events during the week here are cool because you can actually have room to walk around.

So my sister and cousin had a connection with a promoter at the Kress, so we left Opera and walked across the street to Kress. Our mission was to get to the rooftop. Judging by some of the peeps waiting to get inside, I was kinda unsure how good our experience would be at this club. I was getting some bad flashbacks of when I came to Hollywood back in the day and the clubs were so eww! We were taking a big risk since it was past midnight and not sure if we would even get in. The promoter was suppose to meet us at the entrance, but the guy working the door slapped some wristbands on us and wham, bam, we were at the rooftop! WooHoo! No wait, no cover, now that's how I like it! The ratio of d-bags here were pretty high...very cocky and thought they were god's gift to women. At least at Vegas, the crowd is a little more friendly and unassuming. Here in Hollywood, it is can get very pretentious and I felt it with this crowd. At least the awesome 360 view of Hollywood made up for these shortcomings. I also like they tented the roof so the cool air could come in, but it wasn't too cold. All the seating is reserved. I like the tables on the side since it is more of a cabana style and it has the views of the city. The music was okay. Top forty, hip-hop, with a little of house/trance thrown in. It was not bad, but I think the DJ at Opera and Teddy's was better. We got more shots that were supposed to be strong, but either my tolerance has gotten higher or I ate enough at dinner to absorb the alcohol because I didn't even get a buzz. BOO! Well, at least my ladies had a good time dancing with some guys. I even got to dance with a partner myself, but he had to keep his distance since I am spoken for :P Hey, I am down to dance and have a good time as long as the safety zone is maintained. It was a hella good way to end the night of clubbing. I didn't check out the other levels, but passing through one of the levels it looked a bit rundown. The best level appears to be the roof.

Ehh its a place to dance.... This place could be so much better than it is, bartenders need to work on paying attention to patrons and not chatting with their friends. Good DJ's but way too loud and dark to be intimate at all. Turn on a few lights and turn down the mains a tad and everything will be cool
