by Gerald H. on A friend of mine treated me to a really nice dinner here. The atmosphere turned a bit lounge-ish at about 9pm but the muisc while loud, did not take on the theme of a typical meatpacking lounge/club. What we ordered was tasty and I think everything was cooked to order, however I feel the selection of apps was a bit lacking - we actually opted for desert over an app. The best part of the night was playing americas fastest growing game sensation - "Name The Sorbet Flavors" If you are in the mood to eat a decent steak and then hit up a lounge or club - I'd recco this place but I would not call this a destination steakhouse as I think the menu selections at other steak houses are a little more robust.
by Aymee S. on Another item off my want to do in philly list. I always meant to come to this venue when it was Pure and finally got here under the Voyeur MGMT. In the last three weeks I have been three times....loving it! My first two visits i had a free admission card and a few free drink cards...fun fun! The sound system is awesome, the vibe is fun and the dancefloor is crowded..but not too much at all. Heard rumors they were open sun rising late on Saturday nights, but last weekend the lights came on promptly at 3:30-so a tad disappointed about that. I will definitely be returning and the sooner the better!
by Vincenzo Hereth on This is the original Amy's! ( Well for me, anyway.) Yes, the other Amy's are kind of cool. Yes they all have their own flair, funky staff that fling ice cream around the room with no abandon, and the amazing mexican vanilla that I crave at all hours of the night. But this Amy's is where it is really at. I used to meet with my friends at all hours of the night to hang out at this Amy's ( which is open a bit later then the rest of the Arboretum. ) Take pictures at the mini photo booth, and then sit around the beautiful fountain or around the fake stone cows ( see north Austin IS cool, where else can you sit on stone cows and eat ice cream!) So while I give props to the other Amy's - I will stay true to this location. And I secretly, desperately would love to work here. Anyone hiring? Gimmee a buzz :)
