Place is absolutely incredible. Definitely an occasion restaurant-very pricey. Had tasting menu -EVERYTHING was top notch. Seriously there was not a bad bite of anything all night.. Best stephen starr by farr. We brought our own fav wine for $25 corkage fee- they weren't too happy about that and made us show receipt that we bought it in PA.

I love Tao but at the same time I hate Tao... but then again I do come here a handful of times every year. WHY I LOVE TAO The food is actually quite good.  The sushi bar is fresh (they do enough volume) and the Giant Fortune Cookie with White/Dark Chocolate thick Mousse accompanied by juicy fresh fruit is amazing!  I don't think that you have ever seen a fortune cookie this size. It's huge!! WHY I HATE TAO I Love and I mean Love Green Beans!!! They are sooo good!! But I am allergic to Shellfish AND THEY SQUEEZE SHRIMP JUICE IN WITH THE GREEN BEANS HERE!!! BEWARE VEGETARIANS!!!! I was devastated to learn that I couldn't eat one of my favorite dishes. IF YOU HAVE ANY FOOD ALLERGIES MAKE SURE YOU TELL YOUR WAITER. TAO'S MENU IS NOT SELF EXPLANATORY. HIDDEN INGREDIENTS  If you can eat anything then consider yourself lucky and enjoy the food.  Some things are better than others but the Waiter can help you make a good selection. Either way when you leave and get home you will still smell like food. CROWD Honestly Tao does tend to draw a touristy crow but at the same time there are quite a few people that come here regularly for business gatherings or group events.  Great place for use of the company expense account. My fist experience at this restaurant was at a New Years Eve party.  I met a very sexy Irish guy... hmmm can't remember his name but yum!  He tasted better than the food! What a great way to ring in the New Year! ATMOSPHERE Modern, spacious and open. Romance Factor:  9 Hobnob Potential:  8 Destination Rating:  7 THE DOWNSTAIRS BAR can get a little crowded.  But if you're lucky you'll have someone adorable to be pushed up next to. UPSTAIRS BAR My personal favorite of the two.  Try their unfiltered sake!  WOA!! FUN FACT / DECORATING TIP The giant candles on the back wall are not the candles that are actually burning.  The inside of the candle has been hollowed out and  smaller candles (possibly tea lights) are placed inside - thus giving the appearance of a huge candle burning.  Tea lights are much less expensive that giant glowing candles.

Nice views and better service have once again made this venue popular to many. Nice to see things have improved. Sebastian Entertainment -www.sebastienpresents.com - has the longest running Wednesday night party in the city here.
