I was going to see a band at Aura. So, I went to the club's website. I clicked on the "EVENTS" link. It took me to a calendar with nothing on it. The few other pages on the site were useless. For instance, if you want to book a party, you click on the link at it takes you to Google. Aura's hook is, "The Best Kept Secret in the San Fernando Valley." I guess they're working hard to keep it a secret.

Three stars for now. Maybe updated later. I loved the very unique cocktail menu. I did not love the prices. $11 for a cocktail still seems like a lot to me. Maybe that's the going rate these days, but I doubt it. The physical space is amazing, definitely the best thing about this place! Tables are well arranged and nicely spaced apart, cute little round bistro style tables. Nice vibe inside. Great, friendly, very attentive staff. They also have a great bar where I could totally see myself hanging out and having a drink (but only one since they are $11). The menu is very creative: I had curried grits and greens and a peach ginger creme brulee. The grits were fantastic and had a wonderful but not overwhelming curry flavor. The greens were too salty and were supposed to come with mushrooms. I had one piece of mushroom. Disappointing b/c I love mushrooms and would have enjoyed more. The creme brulee was tasty, but it did not at all taste of either peach or ginger so that was also a disappointment. To sum up. Good: staff, space, decor, creative cocktail and creative food. Not so good: prices are bit high, food was creative but ultimately disappointing. I would go back and give it a second chance.
